Yea, that was a whole lot of a bad right there. That was embarrassing all around, including embarrassing managing leaving him in that long.

I know, I wasn't really disagreeing with you about Fredi leaving him in too long. Just trying to joke about it, that's all.

I'm glad he let Marksberry try to work out of it, no issues with that decision. It's really difficult to think this way, but losing isn't the worst thing for this team.

Side note: who the hell are all these guys hitting the piss out of the baseball for TB?

I don't mind Fredi leaving him in. Need to let these rookies feel the heat and learn from these mistakes.

Yup, this is exactly the type of year that you do those things.

This is how you don't play baseball. I've tried not to get angry or frustrated and let the process happen, but that was literally stupid. Easy to solid chance at a win gone to a small percentile. Dumb.

Whenever we have games like this, I have to remind myself we were meant to be "rebuilding" this year and the next at least.

We've still done a little better than I expected coming out of spring training

Just because we're not expected to win that much in the next couple years doesn't mean you stop trying to manage and win each and every game you can. Fredi was the only one in the ballpark who felt it was the right move to keep him in. Rookie or Vet, doesn't matter. Do what's necessary to win the game

We're "rebuilding" our players. Maybe we need to rebuild our manager too.

Gotta love leaving to get food after we went up 6-3, and coming back to see that it's now 9-6 the other way.

    What the hell happened?

Tampa Bay scored two field goals against Atlanta. We did good keeping them out of the end zone though. :)

So you're saying if Marksberry was a 5 year vet, ya do the obvious and take him out. But since he's a rookie, ya leave him in and see what happens. That's called not trying to win each and every game. That's not how a rebuild works. A rebuild works by getting new players while still managing to win.... that way you have a full measure of what you have and what you don't have.

The long fly that Bourn lost in the "air" really started it.
