I get what the point was supposed to be. I also get that it omits reality, as these things you post usually do.
Aye."propped up "
??
He ran for Mayor (endorsed by Keith Ellison). Was gifted column in the Daily News. Scooped up ~$5MM in donations from the liberal NY apparatchik. As the first set of pics were made public he was dispatched from the House - tout suite
He ran for mayor and was slaughtered - due in part to scandal, funding and lack of party support
Then he ended his own career, a second time. He ended it the first time too.
The kind of people who lick their fingers and stick em' in the air.propped up by whom

U&hhh endorsed by a Congressman from Minnisota . Would hardly call that "propped up"
Once again the point flies by.
Wooosh
More to the point, did the DNC swoop in at the 11th hour to bail out Weiner.
Along the lines how your RNC bailed out your party's Mr Moore?
That would be, "propping up"
Pro tip: On a day when Democrats have some right to claim a moral victory ... don't bring up Anthony Weiner as a deformed shining star (especially as a part of a patently false claim of having "ended his career" ... especially when that, you know, didn't happen and, you know, he actually engaged in pedophiliac activity after his career wasn't put to bed. )
But if self-defeating is your thing ... I'm happy to let you indulge.

yeah, i wouldn't bring up that loser to compare or think the high ground was given by bringing him up
he had a 2nd chance for whatever reason and blew that one too
but i would argue the climate of tolerating it has obviously changed with the #metoo movement that happened this year as opposed to past year.
there is no way Anthony gets close to a senate seat etc in this climate imo and justifiably so
"For there is always light, if only we are brave enough to see it. If only we are brave enough to be it." Amanda Gorman
"When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross"
The point is he was never again close to a Senate seat after the first revelation
and though high profile never a serious contender for a Mayor race - where even after a 2nd set of revelations he garnered single digits in primary
I see Weiner a bellweather.
Seeing Pelosi's TV appearance a few weeks ago her tone spoke that Conyers leash was short. As Gillibrand's tone with Franken.
All talk of moral high ground etc (whatever that means) I see secondary to the real politik of it is a political distraction.
How does Franken sell ACA or college tuition reform when all he is asked about is groping ?
Same with Moore -- had Moore not had these allegations to answer to, the tax plan would be in the bag --- as would possibly funding for the wall.
No reports of Paul Ryan stepping down.
At the time of Weiner's first allegations he was a cable news regular selling (D) policy.
So yeah, each party has, in the past 5 years, a different way of handling these issues to manage their effects.
On the personal level, the political level and policy level
Leaving one 71 year old 800 pound orange headed toothless gorilla in the room
......................
Any thought that (D) will twist itself in knots to not have another Bill Clinton affair to answer to ?
Ted Kennedy ?

After we published a list of Trump's lies this summer, some of his supporters asked us to compare Trump to other presidents. We've done so and just published the results: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...-is-worse.html …
every picture tells a story. Don 't it

I find it impossible to believe Obama lied only 18 times and Trump only lied 103 times so far.

I think that's the point that you have now invented as a means of squirming away from the original point.
Actually, he was, at one point, a very serious contender for Mayor. His polling started out rock-bottom and he clawed his way up to 2nd place. Anthony was a very skilled politician, with big money backers.and though high profile never a serious contender for a Mayor race - where even after a 2nd set of revelations he garnered single digits in primary
Of what?I see Weiner a bellweather.
Real politik doesn't capture entire media cycles. All talk of moral high ground etc (whatever that means) I see secondary to the real politik of it is a political distraction.
The masses are asses.
Franken wasn't necessary to 'sell' ACA or college tuition reform. All that was needed from him was his vote. How does Franken sell ACA or college tuition reform when all he is asked about is groping ?
How do you figure?Same with Moore -- had Moore not had these allegations to answer to, the tax plan would be in the bag --- as would possibly funding for the wall.
Reading the news today? No reports of Paul Ryan stepping down.
And he was doing the same thing up until the second allegation. The claim that Liberals killed Weiner's career is spurious. The meme is embarrassingly incorrect. Admit it, move on.At the time of Weiner's first allegations he was a cable news regular selling (D) policy.
Was this post designed to illustrate that?So yeah, each party has, in the past 5 years, a different way of handling these issues to manage their effects.

Neither the DNC or the sitting President "propped him up" ala Moore
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/12/ny...to-resign.html
"Mr. Weiner has been resistant in telephone calls over the past week with Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Israel, who have been warning him that if he does not quit, they will make their case publicly."
Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, issued a statement saying, “The behavior he has exhibited is indefensible and Representative Weiner’s continued service in Congress is untenable.”

Again, now for the third time in this thread, I wasn't talking about the DNC, the Clintons, or the sitting President propping him up.
I was talking about you and Runnin' propping him up as an example of Liberals/Democrats 'doing it right'/treating him materially different than Moore.
Which I find to be weak. And a lie.
A weak lie.
(Since we're on the subject and all.)
