Maybe some of that is due to him chasing pitches out of the zone as well, but I also think some of it is him just being a little out of sorts mechanically. I haven't seen these issues in his mechanics the past couple of games fortunately
I also think he has problems hitting the ball the other way with authority left handed even when he is patient.

There's multiple folds there to figuring out what's going on and fortunately it's not stuff that can't be fixed some (stop trying to make contact on any pitch in the strike zone outside 2 strike counts and sit on your pull zone left handed, and in 2 strike counts try to figure out how to flair balls instead of making medium contact in the air) but even if he fixes it he's still going to be very flawed left handed.

Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Overall they are pretty even. I think the traditional votes will look at avg, rbi, homers. I think in that area Acuna has an edge overall. Acuna has a pretty big advantage on defense too when looking at all the numbers there.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Acuna was doing all this damage with a couple high OBP guy hitting in front of him.

The Red Sox hit Betts leadoff, gives him the most AB's but do agree.

Ideally Acuna would hit 3-4 if we had a legit 1-2 at the top.

Going with the hot hand theory you could go Ender and Camargo at 1-2 with Freeman and Acuna 3-4.

Ronald has 25 home runs and 13 stolen bases with 20 games left.

Considering he was called up late and missed a month due to injury, I'd say I was closer to being correct than Enscheff was. Haha.

    But.

A bet is a bet. And he is simply not going to have the SB numbers.

So I will honor my word.

It has been real, Chop Country. Take care of Ronald for me. He's a star.

After today here is how the Soto/Acuna OPS race is shaking out:

    Acuna: .948
    Soto: .922

Who would have thought that Acuna would not only have caught Soto at this point, but passed him by 26 points. Dude is having the most insane streak of rookie hitting I've ever seen.

I thought there was no way Ronald could have caught Soto.

Soto hasn’t really even slumped. RAJ is simply on a monster streak

I'll make a bet on this. O/U 1.5 stupid bets for SJ over the next calender year. I'll take the under, actually. I have data suggesting he's learned his lesson. Any takers?

What acuna is doing ops wise is what I thought a prime season for him would look like. Doing it at 20 puts him on a different trajectory.

What he's doing shouldn't be legal. I expected his OPS to hover just above .700 most of the year, maybe with a hot streak near the end to push it up over .750. .950 is crazy talk.

I was pretty certain it was going to be higher than .850.

A lot of people are asking me if I will give Taylortov a pardon. I don't know we'll see. Right now we're looking at a lot of different things. What I can tell you is what's happening right now is a total disgrace. Nothing but a total witch hunt.
