More than likely he gives up a 2 run homer in the 1st and shuts them out for 4-5 more innings.

I don't think so- I think he comes out amped and throws a gem. He seems like a "big game" pitcher to me. I don't have the stats to back that up, but seems like he has stepped up big time through the years in big games.
Tonight will be a huge crowd and playoff atmosphere.

I don't know how to define "big games", but his only playoff appearance resulted in 2.2 IP giving up 6 ER.

Since that's not enough data for me to say anything, I'll just go with Hula's gut and agree Teheran is a "big game pitcher".

I like that they decided to skip Newcomb this series to go for it, Sanchez seems to give us a better shot vs Philly. Though he will have to face off vs Nola. However, Folty now goes tomorrow giving him a better shot.

I think the win last night actually took the pressure off Julio. He should go in loose.

He'll likely get another chance.....That 6ER was against LAD, we most likely get them in round 1....where are we btw in the record for home field?

Just looked it up, we are tied with LAD as far as record goes, they hold the 5-1 advantage in season series

Glavine said the same thing last night. Conversely, I think Philly is going to play super tight, and badly. They have both feet in the grave and Julio is going to start shoveling dirt on them.

Probably after he retires the first two guys very easily. Please use an opener for JT. Let him face the bottom half of the lineup as he finds his groove.

Braves could have it wrapped it before facing Nola

Nice. So he'll be pumping it up to 90-91 instead of 87-89

This- if Julio does what I think he will, and we pound on Philly tonight, then I am going to drive up to Suntrust tomorrow!

After watching the game last night I don’t see Philly finishing over .500 this year. Other than the starting pitchers they are not a good team. Thier best player Hoskins is the equivalent to Evan Gattis. Thier defense plays like a little league team. And thier robot, I mean manager, has no feel for the game.

Going forward I’m much more worried about the Nats in our division. Soto, Robles, Turner, stras, Rendon and Schezer is not a bad core.

I'm in your camp. Curious to see if they give Martinez another shot. Harper will likely be gone, but they will have plenty of money to fill holes.

If Teheran is a "big game pitcher", why would taking pressure off him and making him "loose" make him better?

Shouldn't we stick with a consistent narrative? Julio either thrives off pressure, or he doesn't.

Bour and Ramos hit Julio very well, so he is facing a tougher line-up. Plus Ramos has been hitting big time, just not able to play regularly due to health I think. He can barely run so easy DP if you can get a ground ball to someone with a man on base. Hopefully Julio comes out confident and the Phillies tight and it won't matter.

The only big game I've ever seen Big Game Julio pitch was the last game at Turner Field.
