Albies' approach is somewhat unrefined but he has good bat to ball skills like Simmons (even though Simmons got off to a much better start) and a better eye/much better ability to control the strike zone.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Stoked to see Swanson apparently starting to get things straightened out. His struggles were the worst part of this season as far as long term success of the Braves is concerned.

Amazing what the sheer presence of Kemp on the 25 man does to this offense.

Hard to know how he'll end up. Still very young, but his Francoeur-ish walk rate doesn't help him much. Versatile with good speed, but he's a ball-in-play guy without a lot of power, so he's going to be driven by batting average.

Hey Paul Byrd, you sound stupid when you say Swanson only got 1 scholarship offer. He went to vandy... pretty much the premier college baseball school talent wise

I thought you could figure out an approach against breakers just fine in the major leagues. Looks like a lot of people have lots of egg in their face about this with Swanson. Just a mere couple of weeks made a world of difference for him and even still there's probably a lot more work that needs to be done, but he is very much on the right track.

Yes. Haha his swing is too good for him to be an actual bust IMO. I still think .275-.285/.350 OBP, 10-15 homers is still a good prediction for Swanson most seasons

He is hitting .222 after today. With 40 games remaining I doubt he's gonna improve to anything respectable. Unless .230-.240 is respectable to you. Myself I think anything less than .260 is garbage. Couple caveats to that being you can make up for a lack of average by hitting for power, stealing bases, or somehow doing something else very well that helps a team.

Product of the Braves farm equates to being vastly overrated by this board.
