    So...the 28-year-old Parra for 3 @ <$9M per, or Thirtysomething Neck for 3/$33M. Anyone?

    I don't really care.

I'd probably prefer not to have either, but they're both making about what they're worth.

ZIPS for Parra in COL. Both Steamer and ZIPS have Markakis and Parra on a level footing. Nick is a more steady performer, Parra more feast and famine. I'm honestly not sure who I'd rather have. Parra by a hair since he's younger and chance he could rebound on defense?

I didn't realize he'd fallen off so much the last couple years. I'd still take him at his price tag over Nick the stick simply because of age and the potential upside

While there isn't much upside, Nick is a pretty solid bet to be a 1-2 win player for the life of his deal. Especially when you figure that he should soon be playing left field instead of RF.

Parra looks to be trending towards replacement level. My preference would be to have neither at the price they're getting, but if forced to take one I'd choose the guy with a little more certainty even if it means paying him an additional $2 million per year.

Parra put up .291/.328/.452 last year, I don't see how that is trending toward replacement level. Last year's defense could be a statistical blip because he's been a solid defender throughout his career. Is there anything to suggest that at 28, he just became the worst defender in baseball? To me, it appears that it was due to him playing CF when he really isn't a good defender in CF.

I would take him over Nick the Stick due to age, but neither are great options as a starter.

Interesting note, Jordan Schafer signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers not as an OF but as a pitcher!

makes sense. He has always hit like a pitcher so might as well try that out.

He was a dual-position prospect coming out of high school and some were surprised when the Braves drafted him as an OF.

Good to see he no longer looks like one of the guys lopping off heads over in Syria.

Ouch. Sure seems like BAL was bidding against themselves on this one. Another musical chair gone for Upton and Cespedes.

Well, here's another one I don't understand. I thought Kennedy would be backed in to a team-friendly deal.

That contract is going to be disastrous for the Os. Davis is the classic type of player that ages poorly. Literally nobody else was making an offer that even in the neighborhood of this contract.

Overall a very bad signing for the Os, and will probably make them non-contenders for the last 3-4 years of the deal when they have huge money tied up in Ryan Howard v2.0.
