This might be the first year posting going back to scout that I didnt see a long thread arguing that we need like 15 good SP to last a full season. So the depth must be crazy good.

So we’ve already gone from “Soroka will be ready for his next start” to Gohara taking his place.

Soroka can't pitch Wednesday... won't have been 10 days

If Gohara does well, I’m not so sure he will be back up For a while. I think they wanted to give him a cup of tea to see how he did before they trade McCarthy/Julio at the deadline.

I think he showed them enough to make moves.

The best way to go get a reliever, etc at the deadline is moving those two guys and Wisler. No need to trade prospects.

What was written was that Gohara will pitch Wednesday, and Soroka will then pitch in that positions next occurence (as Gohara goes home to be with his family).

That does beg the question though, if Gohara pitches well (like his 7+ relief innings) what will they do 2 weeks from now when he returns.

If Soroka has pitched well enough to earn the spot (paraphrased from Snitker)...then Gohara pitches at least as well, what to do with him. Good problem...not enough rotation spots.

We should not be surprised if either Teheran or folty are traded in the next few weeks

Folty?? McCarthy and Julio would be the first to go. It would have to be a slam dunk to move Folty at this point. Folty has the most years of control left and the highest upside (even though he is a head case).

I sincerely doubt we see any moves made rotation wise until after the break and if so, it might well be some stuff that some don't like.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

I would. The braves are in 1st place. Why would they do that?

I think AA was mocking thethe a little... thethe's scenario is a little less unlikely, but I suspect we are still a ways away from moving any pitchers. Will probably happen at some point though. Some team will have a pressing need for a starter, and the Braves have a few right now that could be made available for the right price.

Just like Thethe said about Folty.

Running board joke that Thethe and his puppet Wowwow hates Folty and don't want him on the team even though he has been pretty good.

They are our future, Folty better stuff with a 10 cent head, Newcomb good stuff a good head somewhat but a bit wild if under pressure.

Just wish somehow, someway that folty and newcomb could become locks for 6 innings and 7 here and there

When he starts a game though, it's always iffy if he will give us 6 in my mind anyway. I love the guy too
