Yes, the code involved with logistics is super complicated...or not.

Get back to me when one of your devs creates a program to build and iterate over a markov chain to calculate expected returns on sequences. You know, software tools used by guys with a phd in mathematics.

Warehouse systems are adorable though. Getting that box from one side to the other can be tricky.

I'm not talking about strict conveyance and sortation, there are complex storage and retrieval and order processing/allocation algorithms that drive our systems. It doesn't seem to be as complicated as the stuff you're talking about, but it's not exactly trivial. For instance, Wal-Mart uses our software to do all of their ecommerce order processing and WMS functionality. These systems are $100+ mil and are complicated as hell. I'm sure one of our head nerds could jump on here and argue about IT with you, but I work in the sales group as a designer/sales manager.

Enscheff has reined himself in quite a bit lately. He still occasionally calls out significantly wrong takes, but we've needed some of that for a while. In general he's civil and right far more often than most. I don't think people are judging him on his recent body of work, and that's a shame.

I guess reading isn't one of your strong points.

I am pretty certain it is one of his strong suits since that was exactly what happened.

Well, I guess if you discount the fact that I clearly state I'm not a software programmer.

We need someone to Enscheff the Enscheff.

Talking about how he called his great recent run of civil posting is a small sample size and how it was likely to regress at some point.

Then we need someone to smart ass that person and say "I WAS TOLD HE HAD IMPROVED AS A POSTER" and then mindlessly argue about it for weeks in various threads.
