Sad how the left wants to control all the discourse in this country. You will be admonished for having the nerve to criticize a black man after that same black man called your victory illegitimate.

Didn't Lewis fight for equality so that he would not be treated differently? Seems like the exact opposite is happening here.

13 years after this picture, Donald Trump was sued by the government for housing discrimination against African Americans.

"John Lewis shouldn't talk about things like that" is also an argument John Lewis heard 50 years ago.

I have zero issues with what Lewis said. I just don't agree with it. I applaud anyone for speaking their minds.

Thats the different between you and I.

I see both in the wrong here.

I admire everything John Lewis has done to advance civil rights but that doesn't make it OK for him to say Trump is not legitimate without any real evidence.

Meanwhile, Trump is not stable. He cannot take one ounce of criticism without foaming at the keyboard. Big adult he is. How rich for him to accuse someone of all talk no action.

Lewis is free to say whatever on earth he wants to say.
    so yeah, it is ok

But it was ok to speak of Ted Cruz' father with "no evidence" or rant about Obama's birth place with no real evidence. etc etc etc
Funny, I don't recall you taking to the keyboard then proclaiming " I see both in the wrong here. "
but John Lewis says it and you opine it is not ok?

    please

Of course he has the right to say it so it's OK in that sense, but he shouldn't be beyond criticism. He's not Jesus Christ. He literally just said the election was rigged and stolen, without a shadow of a doubt.

Funny, you don't seem to be flipping the **** out like you did when Trump wrongly suggested the same several months ago.

I challenge you to find any point anywhere when I suggested it was OK to advance the birther conspiracy, Rafael Cruz thing or anything of that nature.

Except you can't. Shocking, I know.

I've said from day one Trump was unbalanced. It's an embarrassment to the country that he was elected, but he was. And Russia did not steal the election for him. Rigging the vote is not the same as hacking emails.

57 is unhinged. It was looking like his team would be in power for the next few decades and he got slapped n the face globally that they won't be. It's hard for him and all of his ilk to deal with. The reaction to this election is one of the most embarrassing things I've witness in my life

I am of a mind that even handedness is what got us into this mess and do not subscribe to politically both sides do it and are to blame.

There are many things bravenumberone and I agree, Not this.

I agree. In fairness, most of that is coming from the President-elect. Seriously. One of the things arguably worse than a sore loser is a sore winner.

Wouldn't say most but he is being a petty joke as well. Just shut up and do what you promised in your campaign.

Some people are challenging the legitimacy of a president-elect who lost the popular vote by a substantial margin, with questions about collusion with a foreign power. For the record, I'm not one of those folks, absent some more compelling evidence.

On the other hand, Donald Freaking Tump challenged the legitimacy of a president-elect who handily won election and re-election by questioning his citizenship (with zero evidence) and suggesting that the election was stolen. How'd you feel about that?

    Spare me the crocodile tears.

I never paid much attention to the birther movement because I never took it seriously. I'd rather focus on realities such as Obama being a terrible president.

Dang it, I don't really like agreeing with Bill Kristol, but I do here (and yes, Lewis isn't above critique - and yes, he is a hero):

"It's telling, I'm afraid, that Donald Trump treats Vladimir Putin with more respect than he does John Lewis."

Surprised no one of (R) persuation mentioned Ben Sasse response.

In fact been wondering where Sasse has been during transition.

Will be interesting to watch in coming weeks
