We really need FF to run into about 5 more bombs before the season ends. He has been incredible this year

I think Division is 7. The number for the WC is hard to calculate. There's 3 teams at .500 that all have different games played.

    Reds: 5
    Giants: 6
Cards: 7 (to out-percentage them if they play 58 games)

I guess I would say Reds at 5 since they have more games played.

Agree this is the right call. Ozuna can barely run as it is. Only will get worse. Plus he's playing in a contract year. This is likely the best he will ever do.

Ozzie Albies had a .468 OPS 8 games ago. It's .798 now. Dude is healthy.

    Acuna
    FF
    Ozuna
    TDA
    Albies
    Duvall
    Markakis
    Riley
Swanson (I'd go with Hech today though)

This would be my lineup going forward

I agree Albies needs to move up but I wonder if Snit will do it or simply keep him where he is since he’s hot

These Swanson takes are awesome. He has been great alll year and now that he has had some bad luck and numbers normalizing else where, everyone wants to bench him. Unless he is hurt he is our starting SS. PERIOD. this is no different than keeping a hitter in the lineup because he is hot or a pitcher in because he is cruising. Swanson will be fine and will get back on track any moment.

And his defense has been good. I am sure his DrS is still very high.

Not sure if you think I wanna bench Swanson, but nothing could be farther from the truth. I would like to give him a day off today and maybe even tomorrow though. I want em to get a little reset headed into the last week.

I don't think want to keep him out for long, just give him a break. I'm a huge Big Dick Dansby guy but he probably does need a day off. All said, he's a streaky hitter... it's who he is, no worries from me.

36 runs and 33 hits for Acuna. Only happened once in MLB history for a guy to have more runs than hits in a qualified season.

I agree, and you pretty much got your wish with the lineup today.

As others suggested, Ozzie batting 9th Likely had more to do with easing him back into things than it did with where his talent belongs.

Swanson is pretty much the same hitter he’s been, and was getting some good luck. Now he’s getting some bad luck, but still the same guy.

As long as folks realize he’s a bottom half of the order hitter, and stop being fooled by “hot streaks”, they will realize he is what he is.

Of course, this board is routinely fooled by small sample “hot streaks” and “cold streaks”, so this same silly exchange will happen several times per season for several different players over and over until we all die.
