Gilmartin stinks and this a great deal for the Braves, period.
Last 3 years combined slash line:
Ryan Doumit- .275/.329/.447
Brian McCann- .252/.329/.442
Ryan Doumit- .776OPS
Brian McCann- 771OPS
aka RHT10/Cokeman
Atlanta is banking on the return of his bat, which collected a sizzling .283/.330/.466 slash line with 26 homers and 105 RBI over 764 plate appearances between 2011-'12
aka RHT10/Cokeman
"The Braves will furnish pitching to other teams." What is untrue about or "dumb" about it? It says nothing about "studs" or aces.
The team is doing the same thing that they did during the early 90's. Your parents hadn't started dating yet. You're too busy posting constantly to read and comprehend with your ADHD. Take a break from the internet and videogames, then go shove your iPhone up your hole.

This has been one of the best threads of the offseason ... informing and entertaining.

We will rue the day we traded Sean Gilmartin!

.750 OPS lol, sorry.
Glad someone dredged this one up. I was perusing Twins' minor league stats out of curiosity and see that Gilmartin is pitching in AA to start the season. Off to a decent start with the same pre-AAA pattern in play: Solid K and K/BB, Shaky BAA. Twins love those guys (and look how well they do with them!).
Still don't see the need to complain about this deal. First of all, it's early, so who knows what Doumit will do. Even if he totally sucks all year, Gilmartin is borderline a non-prospect.
