Imagine being one of these 11,000 workers and you lose your job overnight bc the President of the USA said so
"Donald Trump will serve a second term as president of the United States.
It’s over."

Am I missing something? Was Congress in this ICE facility? The President? If they burned down that building who would have been President? The same person who is President now?

That was a nice 4 year break while it lasted
Except the fact that only about 1k of those jobs have actually been filled. The rest were just projected jobs needed throughout the process of building the pipeline. Out of those 1k jobs, the majority were temporary. There were only 50 listed as permanent positions. The pipeline is a terrible thing. All of them are. They can leak enough oil to practically fill an Olympic-sized pool without triggering their leak detection system. That very thing happened not that long ago. Just like coal, it is time we move beyond pipelines and find safer methods to provide the same damn thing, and this sort of thing will force it to happen sooner, which will create jobs to replace the ones that were lost (not even close to 11k).
Unless you are willing to go all in nuclear - which Biden doesn't seem interested in - you will need those pipelines and coal plants for a good long while
We have plenty of both. What we need to stop doing is putting MORE money into doomed industries. Soon as we start doing that, the money will flow in alternative directions and other options will emerge. It is how it has always happened, and it is how it will happen with these two issues.
