I for one am excited about paying even more for cars so that they can make insignificant CO2 gains while Asia continues to replace our our already clean manufacturing with cheaper manufacturing unencumbered by eco regulations.

I don't think so. But if you want to have a small carbon footprint while still driving a car, it has been shown that the way to go is to keep your old car as long as possible. The carbon released in manufacturing a new car, even a very energy efficient one, swamps all other considerations.

Correct. Manufacturering an EV has a huge carbon footprint

    .....

granted, would require innovation in manufacturing technology.
would probably require a supportive government (We the people in order to ... )

would require we take the global lead

or is it too hard ?

I'm just using precedent and rumored cabinet appointments as a guide.

Would you like to explain why either of those would not lead me to this position?

The news that General Motors has now sided with California against

Trump's efforts to force them to adopt looser emission standards

is a key tell. It suggests having a sane president might enable more

    business-and-government cooperation on climate change:

No, because you're opinions about such things are absurd and incomprehensible. The Bushes started those wars.

I have no problem with an assertive U.S. military presence around the globe. What else are we gonna do with our ridiculous military budget? And it's better than allowing China and Russia to fill the vacuum.

Can't let this get lost in the shuffle. I'm struggling to remember the last person with a penis in a position of power that had young kids.
