Yup. He's been calling out MLB to do something about it for a few years now. Funny that after doing it himself for a couple of years (because why not if mlb doesn't care) that he's the first one to get busted for it. No doubt that Gerrit Cole among many others do this.

    Real difference maker here.
    Plays a mean lead though.

Did you say "Edgar?" Oh, never mind then.

He's a huge difference-maker when you consider how much better he is than Sobotka.

Too many folks discount these kind of pickups. Santana doesn't belong in the pen right away, but when the inevitable injuries start popping up (we still don't have much clarification on Martin) having guys like Edwards, Santana, and other veterans around to fill-in for a couple weeks rather than someone who has consistently struggled as much over his career as Sobotka had makes a big difference in the long run.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Suarez, India and Senzel are 3 third basemen better than Riley...is there a deal there? I'd think they'd want to get off of suarez's money, but how good is he? Are you going to get 3-4 WAR is his early to mid 30s?

What have you seen from the *hitty backup OF signings this winter that makes you think AA can just decide to add another $10 million plus in salary - particularly now that the expected All-Star Game revenue is gone???

Suarez is their SS, India's their 2B, and Senzel is their CF as of now - you giving them Dansby as part of a deal for him?

I'd guess you can hope that they really like Arcia and didn't think they could get him from Milwaukee without significantly overpaying for him, but a significant overpay compared to what AA gave up for him still couldn't possibly be much so it's hard to imagine they like Arcia that much.

Don't forget Moustakas. And Castellano started out as a 3B. Reds new approach is "If you can play 3B, you can play anywhere." Reds have been clubbing people this first week. My guess is they will come back to Planet Earth, but they look to be able to put runs on the board.

Great story on Mark Melancon over at mlb.com. He was a heart attack-in-waiting, but I'm going to miss the guy. I always saw him as really old school and this article really proves it.

Why is not a perfect game if he dont walk no one? Did he hit a player or no idea?

Kolten Wong goes down with an oblique strain and Jace Peterson (!) is back up and in the starting line-up for the Brewers today.

It's the time of year to scour rosters and be on the lookout for ex-Braves. In this edition of ex-Braves watch, I note that LHP Rex Brothers made the Cubs' opening day roster and is ensconced in their bullpen. Hope he has a little better luck with the Cubs than he did with the Braves. He has always had a tremendous K-ratio.

The Chicago White Sox lost to the Kansas City Royals today by a score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Why is this noteworthy?

Kansas City started left-handed starting pitcher Mike Minor. The White Sox had won their last 17 games against LH starting pitchers, so that ended.

The 2004-2005 Atlanta Braves hold the record with 18 straight wins against LH starting pitchers.

Enjoyed the last two posts. With all this griping about the Braves' bad luck with MLB, it really detracts from the fact that the Braves have had incredibly good luck pulling guys out of nowhere to become key contributors. Franco was playing in Mexico and Marrero was largely viewed as the throw-in who came along with J.D. Drew from St. Louis, but his OPS was 180 points higher than his career average and over 100 points higher than any other year when he had more than 100 ABs.

Should we go ahead and add Adrianza and Sandoval to that list?

Yeah, it took him until 27 to become an elite hitter. A real create-a-player right there.
