How Can This Roster Construction Be Defended?

I understand the shuttle - and need for it - but AA has to call someone up that is to be used for multiple innings (or designate someone currently in the pen other than Tomlin to go more than one), leave them on the roster, and inform Snitker that he ABSOLUTELY HAS TO start using people in that role. Call one of Wright or Wilson back up in De La Cruz' roster spot to serve in that capacity if you don't trust anyone else and have Newk replace Biddle. Martin replaces one of Webb or Arano and another position player (probably Ender) replaces the other guy.

Snitker used his best SP who was just on the IL with a hamstring strain as a pinch-hitter last night. I think everyone understands that mistakes happen in the heat of the moment every so often in close games when a Manager is trying to win, but that's one that just CAN'T HAPPEN. It sucks that there's no DH and that Fried is going to get a couple ABs every 6 days - and that's unavoidable for now - but using him as a PH in that situation last night was utterly stupid, and it will happen again if they continue the idiocy of operating with a 3 man bench because Snitker just can't help himself.

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

As great as Panda’s homers have been this year his inability to run or play defense is a major strain on an already thin bench. We really need 5 players on the bench at all times. The problem is who’s that 5th guy? Camargo?

We have 3 right now. I’d like to see a Inciarte/Heredia platoon and Arcia has the other utility infielder.

A couple issues there. The Braves seem to view Arcia as a replacement in the event of a long term IF injury not as a bench piece. Not saying I agree just saying what’s up.

As for the Inciarte/Heredia platoon is that really the move or is playing Heredia straight up the better way to go?

This would be ideal IMO. With Pache sent down to get the ABs he desperately needs without anything on the line, Adrianza would actually be your super-utility/5th OF and you wouldn't have to worry about an injury to Dansby because you had Arcia available.

As was mentioned earlier, THIS is where AA's ignoring the bench and pen over the winter has come home to roost early on - if Freeman/Ozuna/Dansby were producing AT ALL you could live with Pache and/or Contreras getting their feet wet, but with idiots like Chip (and Frenchy most of the time) whining about how "the bottom isn't feeding the top like last season" instead of calling the guys you expect to perform out for not doing *hit having two rookies trying to get their feet under them hurts.
