Phillies score on the first pitch of the game and then don't score again.

I mean, all his metrics say he’s as bad as he’s looked/his results. And it’s been going for well over a month.

This was a great week, 5-1. It wasn't looking too pretty friday and most of Saturday, but very effective. Great job

The magic is still there. Came back again tonight. A non-playoff team would've folded after being down in the first inning.

This is the spot where we see a little losing streak. Maybe not this time

Well my fiancée and I have a new baby coming next Monday so next week would definitely be a good time for me to get some rest in.

Interesting Rosenthal note in The Athletic - John Hart told him the Jaime Garcia for Ynoa deal only happened after talks with the Yankees fizzled on a deal where we would've gotten Nick Solak in return.

He also said we wanted Nick Burdi instead of Ynoa, which I've seen this reported elsewhere before this story, and Hart even admitted they did less homework on Ynoa than they did on most prospects they trade for. They just bet on his frame and arm strength.

If you impregnated your finance, you certainly have practiced load management.

Twins were all about Burdi when they drafted him and he, like his brother, was an extremely hard thrower (with some arm issues) when drafted. Can easily see why the Braves were interested in him over Ynoa because Burdi was a more polished product and probably seen as a surer investment. Ynoa has really good bloodlines. His older brother--Michael--signed one of the biggest bonuses ($4.25 MM) in the international market when the A's signed him in 2008. Michael's career was stalled by arm problems, but he was pretty big doings coming out of the Dominican Republic.

Glad we got Ynoa, but Solak would have been a nice return as well.

I was thinking the same thing. Solak is exactly what this roster is missing - tons of versatility and can hit.

In my mind, Ynoa has already proven his value this season, along with the bench, in keeping us afloat while our counted-on starters struggle.

Even though he has a two-pitch mix, I like how he uses his slider in different ways. He can make it slurve, and he can make it drop, and last night he was throwing it for strikes and it was basically unhittable. Most of his hard contact was on his fastball, which is hard but straight.

Was a matter of time before the hits started falling for Freeman. His current .405 xWOBA is the 3rd highest of his career. But that BABIP of 193 is easily the worst of his career by over 100 points. He's still good folks.
