Hey, Rico. Thanks as always for doing these. FYI, today is Wednesday the 12th (not 11th).

Only a couple of top-tier prospects in Mississippi, but I wonder if any of the others can develop into useful players. There are some interesting guys on the squad. Still early and small sample size rules, but maybe there will be some development space for a few guys.

Shewmake is concerning to me. He went thru ST hitting like pache so far vs actual mlb pitching. Now shewmake is struggling to start in AA. I realize it is very early, but the combination of a slow start with an awful ST makes it a bigger sample. He's K'n at 33.3% so far

I don't understand why Davidson and or Wilson isn't in the Tomlin role. Right now they look like AAAA pitchers to me. I know Wilson has flashed but he's also blown up.

I think they need to be put in the long man role and see if they can get MLB hitters out. Even if it's in blow outs. I don't what they can improve on at the AAA level and they can't yet be trusted in our rotation.

I don’t know why they gave Tomlin guaranteed money.

Why such handwringing about a $1M mop up man? Minimum is $510k. Tomlin apparently has a salient effect on the young guys in the bullpen.

What I don't understand is how you give Drew Smyly $11M. That was irrational exuberance

Make him a coach then. He's not good

I was ok with the 1 million. It's 400K over the minimum. The more I think about it, it's not the money. It's why not have that opportunity for Davidson and Wilson to show they can get MLB players out. They look AAAA right now.

That's like, what, maybe $2-3m more than Smyly "should" have been paid? I'm not tripping over that. That signing, as I've said many times, seems fine to me.

I just hate watching Tomlin pitch. And I loathe Snitker's irrational love for dude. That's why I wring my hands such.

I don't hate Tomlin near as much as I do the role snit sees him filling

This. It’s not Tomlin’s fault that Snitker is a moron.
