Actually Judge is controlled through next season.

Just don't understand why you'd think that's shocking.

Folks have got to stop overvaluing prospects just based on the fact that they're BRAVES PROSPECTS.

Pache was a Top 20 prospect based purely on his elite defense and the HOPE he'd provide a serviceable bat who's gone a long way towards proving he can't hit at the MLB level. Think Billy Hamilton.

Waters is currently a Top 20-30 guy on most lists who has plenty of tools but also has big-time swing-and-miss concerns. Think Gregory Polanco (assuming he has a couple decent seasons before MLB pitchers find ALL his holes).

Muller is currently the #5 SP because 5 guys who were in front of him are either hurt or haven't produced. That means he was #11 on the depth chart 90 days ago. He also comes with big questions about his control - Newk has had stretches where he teased people too.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Trade Morton to Tampa. Trade Martin/Smyly for anything you can get.

    Try again next year.

I’ll bet anyone any amount of money they can afford to put in an escrow account that the Yankees don’t trade Aaron judge this season.

Why do folks even bother watching mlb network talking heads?

Makes noise while I'm working and gives you interesting - if unrealistic - things to talk about. There aren't exactly a ton of interesting things left to discuss when it comes to the Braves - we've all pretty much talked them out by now.

DeRo has traded half the league.

We need to be sellers. We won’t of course. AA will make some trades that won’t really move the needle and likely hold on to everyone.

If we “do” make trades, I hope they at least help next years roster (like when we added all the bullpen pieces a few years back).

I don’t know if there’s much to really sell. Maybe if Morton and Smyly continue to be decent, they could be used for the back end of someone’s rotation. Maybe Martin and Jackson. Would anyone be interested in Will Smith? Outside of that, who?

I'd wait till the last minute. We have some pieces to get rid of if there are teams in desperate need at the deadline. No reason to be sellers now when we can see where we are closer to the deadline.
    thank you weso1!

Morton as a back end piece.

The takes around here keep getting more and more laughable haha.

Tommy Milone should be coming off the 60-day DL for Toronto right at the deadline, so there's hope.

Maybe a 3 for a pennant contender if a team really needs one (And there are a couple who could benefit, at quick glance). You think he's a 1 or a 2 when you **** yourself any time he's left in for a third trip through the lineup?

The only way you get anything of value for Morton is if you traded him to Tampa or Oakland and paid his entire salary. Then, it still wouldn't be a whole lot.

Tampa maybe would be acceptable to Morton, any place else he just may retire on the spot.

I would trade anyone with an expiring contract (try to get rid of Will Smith’s terrible contract, too), but Freeman is the only one who would get us anything worthwhile. I just don’t think AA has the fortitude to trade him.

I doubt AA trades FF but I also think it is not a sure thing Freddie is back next year. Freddie may want money that would preclude other meaningful acquisitions.

Funny isn’t it. He would likely be the best available pitcher (and with playoff experience). Smyly would also be attractive to many teams if he keeps it up. Smith would likely be the top closer available, Those three for certain.

Someone like Martin “might” have some interest. Luke Jackson definitely would bring a return.

If we are still sitting a few games under .500 near the deadline (like we basically have all year)…we need to sell. It’s not popular, but good teams that have an off year can set themselves up for the following years if done right.

Maybe make a move for a decent rental bat like Marisnick or Asdrubal Cabrera if you can get them for spare parts. Otherwise, I don't see a move that moves the needle enough to warrant giving up serious prospects this year. Ultimately, to make some noise we're gonna have to get healthy and Snit is gonna have to quit making terrible decisions in tight games. We're no better than .500 club at the moment and the schedule gets really tough heading into the deadline.

We could easily be more than 5 games under .500 by the deadline, at which point selling guys like Morton, Smyly, Smith, Adrianza, Almonte, and Martin could net us some decent lottery ticket types.

Pay REAL close attention when someone sends you "information" - the people setting up fake accounts seem to be getting better by the hour. Had someone send me this link during the game last night...

    https://twitter.com/rumors_updates/s...518795270?s=20

Guessing whoever runs that account saw the proposal someone from MLB Network came up with - Story and Givens to the Braves for Dansby, Ender, and Newk.

I think losing the projected all start game revenue will bite us in the ass

I would bet any revenue from the All Star game would have been diverted to the Battery resources.
