Should be a foregone conclusion that both are getting dealt. So yeah if it hasn't happened already then no reason to risk it.

He’s already taking BP and jogging before games. He should be back in a few weeks.

Day game after a night game, so convenient excuse not to play them in case a deal is reached.

Austin Riley just hit another homer. I cannot even begin to describe how nice he's been for the Braves. That covers another place the Braves won't need to add at the deadline :)

Alright - Let me see how bad of an idea this is for the community.

Rockies pay half of Blackmons remaining salary (including player options). It would only costs a 40FV or less prospect.

    Should the Braves inquire?

3B is a possible upgrade spot with Riley shifting to LF. He is that bad over there.

And I thought he played a very passable LF.

    Bryant then?

It seems he has been better there of late.

Can you break the def metrics into periods? Curious bc he had a horrible stretch, but seems decent for the most part.

It's more about the bat than defense. I don't which position the player plays.

Even if you could, that may be the case for lots of defenders. That period would still count

Riley rates as the 3rd worst defensive third basemen on baseball savants 'outs above average'.

Outs Above Average (OAA) is the cumulative effect of all individual plays a fielder has been credited or debited with, making it a range-based metric of fielding skill that accounts for the number of plays made and the difficulty of them. For example, a fielder who catches a 25% Out Probability play gets +.75; one who fails to make the play gets -.25.

That data set would be meaninglessly small. Riley is not good at 3B, and the only thing we don't know is exactly how not good...but we know it's pretty bad.

He is also not good in LF, but better than expected. At this point, there is no way I risk messing up whatever is going right for Riley by moving him to LF.

To me, it seems like Riley is Freeman's replacement at 1B in the event he signs a deal elsewhere.
