While once he does, if he does, he's definitely the favorite in the primary, I wouldn't say he's a guarantee to win it. Gary Black is a solid candidate because of Georgia's agriculture business. Probably has the better chance in the general election too, IMHO. I don't think Herschel's UGA legacy works in this state as a whole (it may very well in the primary though). Even if you want to say Georgia is not a purple state, that doesn't make Georgia similar to Alabama outside of rural Georgia...
As a bonus, I think the Vernon Jones primary of Brian Kemp ends up failing. While Kemp isn't very popular for anybody in the state, I think he gets saved in the primary by country club type Republicans.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
The primaries for Secretary of State and Lieutenant Governor are gonna be interesting.

Country club republicans outside of Liberal States like New Jersey haven't made an impact in any race of consequence. Id be shocked if either Kemp/Raffensberger/Duncan are serving in their roles during the next term.

Herschel isn't a perfect candidate but he's probably the best option the GOP has. I hope he runs and wins twice. Every high profile minority Pub makes the media's narrative that Republicans hate minorities look a little more silly to the people still paying attention.

He's gonna visit every Georgia county he said, and he plans on winning. He isn't afraid of the work. Guys a monster physically and damn tough.
He wrote a book on his mental illness and documented his troubles with it so its out there and he owns it.
He still works with vets with mental illness as well.
His visit here was a smashing success. He's pretty no nonsense and straight to the point.
