    California Recall Vote

    The big day is tomorrow.

I believe ballots have been mailed to all voters, including the low-information ones.

Low information voters are so numerous in California it now appears likely that Tyrant Newsom will escape recall.

Plus the usual cheating and other shenanigans. Fortunately, the voters are receiving some timely warnings about this:

    "I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."

    "I am your retribution."

Larry Elder has set up a tip line to combat the shenanigans.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/12/u...ia-recall.html

“We have a voter integrity board all set up — most of these are lawyers,” Mr. Elder said last week, according to CNN. “So when people hear things, they contact us. We’re going to file lawsuits in a timely fashion.”

He's a real dirtbag. Glad he's having to get put to the test. I doubt anything happens unless he's VERY unpopular with the latino crowd.

Hispanic Americans are the demographic at play.

Who knew that flooding the zone with crime, low skilled labor and pretending men are women would enrage a traditional hard working religious based people.

No one is happy with Newsome. He will escape recall (Larry Elder is not an appealing alternative), but he will get crushed in the on cycle election next year.

It will be sort of amazing though if Bluetopia ends up with a Republican governor through all of this. It would be a fitting end to a disastrous governorship.

California's coffers are bulging thanks to the high-flying Silicon Valley, surging stock market and a large share of professionals who were able to continue working remotely during Covid-19. The state has a progressive income tax structure that leans heavily on top earners, allowing the state to enjoy record revenues despite widespread job losses in the travel and service industries that have kept California's unemployment rate among the nation's highest.

    Great job Newsome!!!!

He has successfully created the largest welfare state with the largest poor/homeless population.

But he still gets credit for Silicon Valley!

This is why people like Zito are destroying the country.

I lived in California during most of the Schwarzenegger Era. Arnold was a serious governor who had a positive conception of government. He vetoed many bills but still had a constructive relationship with the Democratic majority in the legislature. He helped pass a proposition to establish a redistricting commission and end gerrymandering. This I believe will turn out to be his most important legacy.

California (and any state for that matter) would benefit from a healthy and competitive two party system. I look forward to a competitive election in 2022, with serious men and women with a positive conception of government running for office. And hopefully, no one will be complaining about the election being rigged and encouraging their supporters to believe in various conspiracy theories about the other side stealing the election.

Every single election gets a full foresnic audit paid for by the state.

    Move to paper ballots.

    National holiday for election day.

    Early voting for two weeks.

    All in person. Limited exceptions.

There would literally be ZERO people claiming election malfeasance.

Prior to the dispute of the 2020 election you were on record saying universal mail in ballots opens the door to too much fraud risk.

    What happened to that guy?

But maybe nsacpi you can explain to me why there were Republicans reporting that they were trying to vote and the system said they already voted.

    Are they all lying?

Could you then also explain to me the countless reports of people receiving multiple mail in ballots to one address?

Or how about the bust that was made with hundreds of ballots found in the backseat of a car?

    All no big deal....

Whatever they tell us is the result you have to believe or else you are a danger to Democracy!!!!

I prefer expanded in person voting. To my old-fashioned sensibilities there is less chance of fraud with that.

At the same time, we now have a fairly long history of certain states relying heavily on mail-in voting and as far as I can tell there is no documentation of significant fraud. Except for the interesting case in a congressional race in North Carolina.

There has been a change in the past few years in willingness to accept election results by a segment of our political system. This change sad to say is not based in any actual increase in fraud.

Correction - There is 0% chance of fraud with in person voting + Voter ID. Well, as long as the Democrats don't lock Republicans out of the counting rooms.

You keep saying there is no documentation of significant fraud and yet are not supportive of any inspection. Why is that?

Hopefully after this they fix the recall process. The bar is too low and it should trigger a regular election rather than having a bunch of names with the highest vote getter. The winner should have to get more votes than the person being recalled.

That's patently false as the voter ID and in person voting are reliant on the people at the polls doing their jobs. Which means 0% chance is reliant on the system working as it should. You could quite easily have a conspiracy with a poll workers and a political party verifying voters presenting an ID and crossing off names on the register.
