The Braves lose by 1 run after Snit yet again punts a PA with a runner in scoring position to extend the SP for 0 more outs against the lineup a 3rd time. That SP then gave up the lead, so the missed offensive opportunity also led to the opposing team immediately scoring runs in a tie game….again…for the 20th time this season.

Anyone wondering why the Braves don’t have a better record only need to read that first paragraph.

The Braves are extremely lucky that the rest of the NL East is so bad because they'd be getting blasted in most other divisions.

Is this team going to hobble into the playoffs with an 85-77 record?

I know we are likely stuck with Snit for next year, but he really needs to study the advanced analytics in the off-season. This team could easily be 10 games better right with an 86-57 record and fighting Milwaukee for first round home field advantage.

I don't care if someone carries us into the playoffs. Having even a little bit of extra revenue is well worth it.

It's like the movie 50 1st Dates... snit flushes his memory from the game before every day. It's amazing to me that the players love him. Are they as dumb as he is?

I think players for the most part worry about being good players who follow the lead of the manager. If all they know is "Starter goes 5 IP to get a W", and everyone tells them that Ws are good, then it stands to reason they would like a manager who wants them to get the W. It's a bit like players "knowing" the 9th inning is hard to pitch because that's what they've heard their entire career, so always using Will Smith in the 9th is a great idea to players.

In other words, it's not their job to worry about stuff like that. It's their job to do what the manager says. And it's the manager's job to tell them to do the right things. Just like the Braves don't have a physically inept analyst on the field trying to play SS, they shouldn't have a mentally inept manager making strategic decisions.

We’re what 5 games off our expected W-L total? I wonder why that could be?

Record in one run games, which suboptimal decisions by the manager directly influences.

We’re 8-11 since our 9 game winning streak. 6 of those 11 losses were by 1 run.

It's a pretty common occurrence, but I'll say that I can forgive it in the season much more than I will in the playoffs.

Saving an inning of bullpen work 100 times might be worthwhile.
