This post is not about Swanson.
#2: Maybe MLB needs to change the meetings to Baseball Competition instead of Baseball Game. It irks the hell out of me every time FF gets on base of the other team reaches first. Freddie has to have a Fraternity meeting and laugh and joke with everyone. Every game is a competition.
this isn't war man.. when I am playing golf with friends and have money on every hole, I am not ignoring them and hoping they fail. I want to beat them with a birdie, not win with a bogie. We still joke and have a good time... Should FF spit on every guy reaching 1st?

Could you imagine the NY media and twit together. Our beat reporters are as soft as butter on these guys. NY would eat him up. I doubt Twit would make it a half a year in NYC.

Snitker wouldn’t even be hired as the 3B coach on one of their farm teams.

So the guys are scared to rest bc of Freeman? If so then FF needs to be talked to. Everybody needs to rest. I couldn’t imagine having to call one my employees to ask if it’s ok if I give one of my others a day off lol. Ridiculous bc one you start that good luck getting it to stop.

Image teardown to prepare the fan base for Freeman's departure in free agency.

I agree everyone needs rest, but why the f*ck was Sandoval on the roster through the trade deadline? Snitker gets a lot of deserved criticism, but roster construction coming into the season was pretty bad. Pache's face plant and Acuna's injury made things more complicated, but in order to give guys rest, you have to have a qualified bench and that goes back to the off-season decisions. Adrianza could be--and is good enough to--providing breaks for Albies and Swanson.

As per the Giants, I don't think there's any analytical model that showed guys like Ruf and Wade having OPS > .850, not to mention Belt and Longoria > .900 and Crawford about .150 over his career OPS and hovering around .900. Great pitching. They're a bit of a unicorn in my estimation.

Quotes directly from Freeman in each of the cases written about. Nice of him to do the dirty work of tearing down his own image.

Bobby was old school. But he forced guys to take a day off at minimum on Sundays with the Bobby Sunday Specials. When Freddie became bigger than the team during Fredi’s reign when Fredi tried to rest him, that was not good.
    Forever Fredi

The reason Freeman is struggling to finish the season is that he’s rounding himself into playoff form.

I have zero issue with Freddie. He leads by example and he quite obviously has enormous presence amongst the other players. This is a super valuable trait.

It’s Snitker’s role to leverage Freddie’s leadership to manage the team to as many wins as possible.

This is definitely a strike against Snitker’s strength of clubhouse management.

    Lmao

Freddie has a .399 wOBA this month. He was also easily our best player in the Dodgers series last year.

I do not understand what’s not to love about Freeman.

Remember when he was injured, told not to do any baseball activities and he went out for pregame warmups the next day anyway. He’s a bit of a weirdo. Great dude, though.

I really hate the macho lunch pale mentality. It’s about maximizing productivity. That’s all that matters.

Big Big difference. Your only competitor in golf is yourself. You have no control or influence as to what the other guy does.

I remember when he couldn’t bring in Acuña from 3rd with 1 out in the playoffs and I remember him kicking a ball in the elimination game leading to a 10 run inning

I also remember him calling Acuña out in that series in the media.

I shouldn't given how much good he's done for Atlanta but that blunder in the NLDS that led to the 10-run inning will forever be etched in my brain as a source of frustration towards Freeman.
