Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
Does Heredia deal tell us anything about Pache/Waters???????????????

Not even making the assumption that Duvall will be tendered and still need a LH OFer?????

This plus Yates at $1M, Duvall at $9.1M, and non-tendering RiRod, Arcia and Camargo puts the payroll at $132M with holes at 1B, LF, SP, and 2 bench spots. At least one of those bench slots should be a LHH....like Rosario. The other must be a back up SS like Adrianza for ~$1.5M because he also covers the OF a bit if Acuna isn't 100% on opening day.
That hole in LF could be filled by Duvall following a CF trade.
All my numbers assume Ozuna at DH on opening day.

Heyman: Teams are trying to pry superstar 1B Freddie Freeman from Atlanta. Some say they still don’t think it will happen but r surprised he’s still free. Dodgers, who lost Seager and could move Muncy to 2B, may have best hope for SoCal product, NYY, TOR (h/t Carlos Baerga) reached out.

I'm guessing if Freeman is gone you go Bryant/Soler/Rosario?
Natural Immunity Croc
Just an aside- but ANOTHER offseason where teams are going in not fully knowing what the rules will be for the 2022 season. DH? Expanded roster? Payroll limit? Payroll floor? How many playoff teams?
Just seems INCREDIBLY backwards.

If Freddie's market at 6 years is still that hot, it's tough not to think Alex isn't working hard on Plan B, and that it just might be Olson and Manaea. It's probably fair to assume that Cashman isn't looking to add a big contract and plans to work something out with Judge since the Yankees passed on Seager. If they opt for keeping their prospects and re-signing Rizzo that would mean we'd get a second high pick and the Dodgers would add ANOTHER huge contract.
Olson and Manaea would cost a good-size package, but probably wouldn't gut the system since (as Enscheff often points out) they're prone to doing quantity over quality deals and they're desperate to unload the salaries - and we'd potentially be the last of the contenders beating down their door for Olson (unless Seattle jumped in). It'd be interesting to see what kind of package it would take to get them to bite.
The two of them would cost about $22 million of the $30 million many folks expect Freddie to get. Throw the other $8 million at Rosario, and when Acuna gets back you'd be looking at...
An Acuna, Dansby, Olson, Albies, Riley, Rosario, Ozuna, Duvall, d'Arnaud lineup with a Morton, Fried, Anderson, Manaea, ??? rotation and a lockdown pen when Yates is ready.
Not bad for ~ $153.5 million. Then maybe you throw 5/$150 million or 6/$175 million at Olson once he's here - that would lock him up through the end of Ozzie or Acuna's deals (he'd be 34 if it lasted 6 years).

I'll never understand using Heredia as a defensive sub over Pache, but at $1m as a bench player I don't really care. I still feel like he misplayed that Taylor blooper in the 7th of NLCS Game 2, although the advanced stats probably say that was a harder catch than I thought and it didn't end up costing us the game (fortunately).
