I actually think Swanson is the player you actually could get signed to a hometown discount. With no in house replacement, I think he’s probably worth retaining.
The As definitely would not start a rebuild by trading someone with 2 years of control for someone with 1 year of control. I'm not sure why this same person keeps bringing Swanson up as a target for the As.

The As would want guys with 5+ years of control in exchange for Olson.

I never say anything about Swanson before.

Well the Braves were the first team to win a title after the last work stoppage. And the last team to win a title before this work stoppage. Go Braves!

Certainly Heredia is not the primary CF and Duvall would not be ideal, lots of load to bear for Pache. Then there is 1b to settle so what would you think of Swanson plus for Olson. Use Arcia at SS, bring back Adrianza then see what deadline situation looks like.

Soler hasn't been particularly good though, outside of 2019, and about a half a season in 2018. Do you think Soler is worth 65 million over 4 years?

Doubt we trade Swanson if Freddie leaves. And I sort of doubt we're seriously interested in Correa. Probably the due diligence we always do with top FAs. Tell em we pay a large AAV but on a short deal.

I assume this is an indirect way of saying ozuna isn't either, and these were 3 of the 4 stat lines leading up to the deal.

"I ike the total value, even if I don't like 4 years. Not too risky." - you, the day ozuna signed the deal

    What's changed?

    Seems everyone liked the deal

For one, we were a bit desperate for hitting at the time and he was the best available. But I was beating the drum all winter that I wanted to see Joc and Duvy platoon.

Secondly, he's a year older. Has missed most of the last season with an injury along with off field stuff. And he was not good before the injury. I'm not saying I expect him to be terrible or anything, but those stats aren't super encouraging to me.

Might just as well go ahead and piss enscheff off this morning. Im kinda pleased that AA flirted with Correa. Swanson is not my favorite Brave to watch tho I will admit to his general competence, watching him in the batters box is frustrating especially when RISP.

Cant afford 2 players commanding $30M AAV so wonder why AA chexs in on Correa? Ive been on Riley bandwagon from start tho I wonder if he may not outgrow his build soon. Albies is a fixture. FF would be missed but not impossible to replace. Two catchers signed for 2 years wonder what that does to Langoliers rapid development? Brings us to Contreras and how much value he actually has? Havent worked out an OF yet but will keep pondering.

I'm gonna be pissed if the season is cut short and they don't come to Dallas again. lmao

I am growing impatient with the Atlanta Braves also, I wonder if the Dodgers would hire me.
