Just musing here suppose Watkins falls to 6, I'd be all for the Falcons taking him and making Roddy or Harry available. They could possibly get a second round pick with one of them, and how many chances can you have to get 2 stud young wide receivers? Really would be tempting. That said I think the Raiders or Browns take him, but if he falls I may want th eFalcons to take him unless I'm wowed by Barr or Clowney falls.

QB prospect to watch is Jimmy Garappolo out of Eastern Illinois. He played very well in the East/West Shrine Game today and will also now participate in the Senior Bowl. Will be a name to watch for during the next week. See if he can back up his good play against better players in the Senior Bowl.

Also, just as I thought, HaHa Clinton-Dix has gone back up in the player rankings. Look for a jump for him in the next mock I will make, likely late Wednesday night.

I'm a Packer fan and I sure hope their actual draft doesn't look like yours. I highly doubt they will take a WR and an OT in the 3rd. Way too many needs on the defensive side of the ball that need to be addressed unless Thompson goes the FA route to fill those slots (which is iffy).

Has Bridgewater at 1, Matthews at 2, Clowney at 3, Bortles(Manziel possibly) at 4, Watkins at 5, and Falcons getting Robinson at 6.

Be careful there. Clinton Dix might be the best safety, but safeties have a tendency to not be drafted as highly unless they are an all world prospect. Vaccaro was a great prospect at the position last year that could cover like a CB.

Im not sure the Falcons pass up a elite LT prospect to pick a guy that doesn't play with his hand in the dirt, but hey they could mix in a lot of 3-4 next year with some select draft picks.

I also wouldn't project Watkins to the Browns, as WR is about the only place they are flush.

I would also think Mack goes before Mosely unless some team has a void at MLB.

Most are basing the projections off of the ability of Barr to go into a down lineman role and be a pass rush specialist like a Trent Cole or Dwight Freeney type who doesn't overly concern themselves with the run. I don't really have a place yet on Barr vs Matthews. Will wait til combine/prodays on them. Lots of people criticize Matthews's size, wuold like to see how he shakes out in the hand/arm side.

Senior Bowl is now in the books. Next big draft event is the combines coming next month. Here are some, IMO, winners and losers this week:

    Winners:
Dee Ford (Auburn OLB): Had great practices all week and continued that into the game. Had a couple sacks and at least a couple other QB hurries. He had been likely a third round pick, but he may have elevated himself to the second round. If he continues his good work the next couple months, a first round selection is not out of the question.

Aaron Donald (Pittsburgh DT): Had a strong week during practices. Was constantly one of the best D-Linemen in Mobile. Had a rather good game today as well. Has put himself into discussions for the first round.

Derek Carr (Fresno State QB): Was the best QB all week in Mobile. Did nothing to damage his stock. Threw for a TD in the game. Kept himself in the first round projections.

Kevin Norwood (Alabama WR): Question about him is his speed, but he had a great week. Caught almost everything thrown to him. Was South team MOP. May have elevated his stock a round or two perhaps.

    Losers:
North Quarterbacks: All three didn't help themselves much at all. Logan Thomas and Stephen Morris had erratic throws all week and in the game. Tajh Boyd was thought to be the best QB in Mobile, but he was inconsistent. Had an interception on an underthrown pass in the game. None of them helped their stock.

Seantrel Henderson (Miami OT): I remember he was a highly thought of prospect coming out of high school. He never lived up to that promise in Miami. Had a chance to answer questions and instead, probably caused more to be asked about him. Was constantly beaten in practices and that continued into the game. His size is attractive to NFL teams, but unless he picks it up in the combines, he may go undrafted.

Titans aren't taking a center. We took Brian Schewnke last yr and he did pretty well this yr before getting hurt.

If we take any OL early, it will be a LT. Tiny Richardson in the 2nd is a pretty good possibility.

I like the Sankey pick for the Falcons, and would be pretty dissappointed with taking a TE in the top of the 2nd. We need OLinemen in the worst way but FA may fix some of that.

At the least I'll be upset if the Falcons don't use their first 2 picks on their front seven. Unless someone falls that you can't pass up on. Like say Clowney and Matthews go 1-2 then you have a QB rush and Watkins is there at 6. I'd take him over Barr/Mack. Not that the Falcons have a need at WR, just can't pass up on a legit top 5 talent at a position you can play him. Then you dangle Douglas for a 2nd or 3rd. Or see fi anyone would trade a late 1 for Roddy though I'd be less inclined to make that move since with 2 very verticle receivers Roddy would basically be the man in the middle of the field with no safeties to worry about.

Always take the BPA that's the most important thing. Then if there's not a huge difference between bPA and a need you go to the need. But I don't think that Jace is the BPA at that second round pick so I hope the Falcons don't go that route.

    The previous two were better.

FS isnt a big need, and way too many other needs (DE, CB, ILB/WR)

I pray clowney falls to Atlanta at 6, but I think St. Louis takes him or someone trades up to 2 (Bucs?) to take him. Of course can't rule out the Texans drafting him.

I think more than any year the combine may settle picks. I don't think anyone but Clowney will sit out most drills. Matthews has questions, all the QBs have questions, guys like Mack and Barr are fighting for top 10 picks.

I think you got the top 3 QBs who'll be taken right. Bortles, Manziel, and Bridgewater will be on all of the first 5 teams (but the Rams's) board for consideration.

I do think though the Browns basically have to draft a QB. Weeden is a total and utter failure, They have to take a QB, if tthey don't they'll bein trouble Though maybe they trade down with someone who really wants Matthews/Clowney and they think they can get Carr.

I just don't see Cleveland taking a WR but maybe thats just me. The Jags, Texans, and Oak are almost guaranteed to take a qb first. I could see the Rams taking Matthews because Long won't be ready for the start of camp. They are also subject to losing Roger Saffold (RT) in FA. So feasibly, they could plug in Matthews, with an idea of moving him to LT when Long gets "not worth his contract" in 2 years or so.

I don't think Cleveland does either unless they trade Gordon.

Cleveland's all time passing leader is Brian Sipe, under 60% completion, under 6 NY/A and almost even in TDs and INTs. 1 time probowler. His 10 year career netted an 88 AV, something QBs today get in about 8 or less. So basically their best QB of all time is kind of like the Eli Manning without the superbowls of today.

After the last decade and a half of Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, Kelly Holcomb, Derek Anderson, Colt McCoy, Brandon Weeden, and Jason Campbell, they owe their fans gambles on QBs. They won't win with Jason Campbell and their's no bet they'll be picking number 1 next year for Mariota or that he's better than Bortles/Bridgewater/Manziel.

Cleveland may not take a QB, but they'd be dumb not to. Oakland at 5 with all those other QBs off the board is the most likely to take Watkins, though, never know, Rams may decide to be crazy and really load up for Bradford. Rams are wild cards because they don't really have needs for any of the top draft prospects. They're strong at OT and DE, of course they can improve there but it's not like they're the Falcons with glaring holes there. THey just drafted Austin last year high as a WR but having a companion isn't really wrong, and they seem sold on Bradford. Rams are very likely to trade out. My guess as to their trade route? Either the Bucs trade up to 2 because they really want Clowney, or one of the Browns or Raiders really want a QB and want to lock it in. Rams I'm guessing take lower value to only move down 2-3 picks. (1 and next years 2 or something like that) or maybe some team Ricky Williams them. I don't think they sit at 2 though. b

As a Packer fan, I hope you're wrong about their first round pick in your latest draft. Benjamin is a really nice player, but the Packers' defense is very mediocre, mostly due to lack of speed. I hope you've overrated your own C.J. Moseley, because he'd be my dream pick for them. If the draft unfolds the way you have outlined, I'd almost hope that they'd trade down a few slots and take Pryor, Van Noy, or Shazier and bank a couple of extra picks for other needs on the d-side of the ball and a TE. I don't know if Shazier is big enough to play LB in a 3-4, but he is surely fast enough.
