I selfishly want him to stay but he does deserve another chance to manage

Why are we assuming that Ron Washington has turned into a analytics minded manager?

It would be a mistake to assume that is the case with anyone on the Braves coaching staff.

SD hiring a dinosaur manager would be the last step taken before Preller is out of a job.

We know how much Walt Weiss hated analytics when he managed the Rockies. He was very very open about it.

and then in that Long write up about Snit in SI, Snit said he lets the coaches handle the analytics (Weiss and Kranitz).

The Washington for manager story seems like a way for Preller and and Padres to be relevant during the playoffs. They are just trying to win another offseason on paper while other teams are trying to win a season on the field.

That would likely be a double loss for the Braves. Gung ho guys like Wash are probably much better suited for assistant roles.

Wash has been awesome with Atlanta and I wanted him as manager over Snit. He definitely deserves another shot. Just hate to see him go

We need to hire from outside of the organization. I'd like to see someone hired as manager who doesn't have "Bobby Cox's friend" listed on his resume.

Matt Quatraro from the Rays please.

No idea if he’s friends with Bobby though.

Feels like whoever we want as a manager is a moot point. I don't see Snit going anywhere- though I'd love to be surprised.

Losing Wash would definitely be a disappointment because he's great in his current role, though I don't want him as a manager any more than I want Snit as a manager. I'd like a manager who isn't over 50, but at this point I'll settle for one under 60.

It would take a pretty ballzy move from AA to fire Snit anytime soon (even though its probably warranted).

The team responds well to him and we are going to perennial 90+ game winners the next 3-5 years.

Agreed. But that is the sad thing- I wonder if some of those 90+ game winners could be 95 or 100+ game winners with a more competent manager. More importantly, I wonder if some of those 90+ game winners could win more playoff series. Only time will tell.

Snitker getting fired isn't on the table. Be realistic folks.

He's been extremely successful and Braves haven't underachieved in any way.

I don't like things he does often either, but that's the way it is.

Retirement to front office theoretically possible but why would he at this point?
