Pretty straightforward. Based on the core we have signed and can retain, and what we have in our minors, how long do you think our contention window can remain open?

So many things change year to year, Does Swanson stay? Does SP get hurt? Do we resign FF? Does payroll get too big with this core? it is hard to say, but I think it is 7+ years. (And that is a long time)
Ronald, Ozzie, & Riley peak before settling over the next 7 years.
Anderson, Soroka have 7+ years before plateauing
Fried has 4+ before plateauing
I assume FF gets 4+ years
We have filler coming at C, SP, OF.
Our contention window where AA doesn't have to hit a home run with every move is 3 years.
Unless of course the new wave of prospects are the tits.

If we hit some home runs with International talent we may have around 8 years. Plus the tv deal coming 2027 i believe is another boost.
Things looking very good!
As long as Acuna is here
Well I would look at it differently. Only consider the amount of years left we have with Acuna and Albies, as well as Fried, Soroka and Riley. If they sign beyond their current deals then it would potentially extend the length of the window.
I believe we have 3 more years of Soroka and Fried, and 4 more of Riley, and 5 more of Anderson. Acuna and Albies I believe we have for 7 each.

I know every fan feels like this after a WS victory, but I rally feel like we are entering a window like Houston has been in the last 5 years. I see more reason to believe we will be in 2 more WS in the next 4 years than to think we will miss the playoffs in the next 4 years. After that, it depends on AA.
I feel it is the GMs job to build the team to make the post season. It is the Mgr's job to win once they get there. Go AA!!! Go Snit!!!
This is the correct answer.
Building a 90 win roster around a 6-10 WAR player (who is significantly underpaid) is achievable. As long as the Braves maintain an above average payroll, hit at a league average rate with prospects, and avoid multiple albatross contracts, this team will contend.
Basically there is no reason the Braves can’t replicate what Houston did.

Hard to tell with so many variables. Need to beef up our minor league depth and hopefully getting back into the international market will help with that. As others have said, a healthy Acuna and productive Albies are a great place to start. If Freeman returns for a few seasons and Riley remains where he is performance-wise, that gives us a tremendous core around which to build.
I would agree with the 'as long as Acuna is here' statement with the huge caveat that he has to be- and remain- healthy.

I think our window will last through Acuña and Albies primes here. During those years we can build teams around them although there are some key other pieces. If we can resign Freeman he should be elite for three or four more years and when you combine that with Riley, Fried, Anderson, and hopefully Soroka that should be peak contention. We’ll need to complete each team but we should always be competitive in that window.

As long as Acuna/Albies/Fried are here, and enough payroll flexibility exists to supplement that core with premium talent.
Signing poor contracts like Ozuna and Will Smith will be the fastest way to close that window, and that could happen as soon as 2-3 years from now.

Tough to really say.
- Do we keep Freeman, and for how many years and when will that contract eventually be a bad contract.
- Do we extend Swanson, Soroka, Fried, Riley.
- How do the likes of Harris, Waters, Pache, along with the young pitchers on the farm do when they come up as well as Shea.
- And how high will payroll eventually go?
