I would not be surprised if that happens to the Braves this year.

I think you can shoe us in for a back to back no-hitter or back to back perfect game/no-hitter on consecutive days combo.

Which was worse yesterday? Braves fielding, Reds hitting, Suns offense?

Our old pal Mark Melancon looks like he might finally be at the end of the road. 8.49 ERA, just four strikeouts in 11 2/3 innings. Against five walks and 20 hits allowed.

He'll get released then AA will pick him up and he'll have a resurgence.

Not sure where else to put this - Ken Rosenthal wrote a long story today about the Blue Jays taking Alek Manoah 11th in the 2019 draft. Manoah said Texas at 8 and Atlanta at 9 were two teams very interested in him also. Texas ultimately decided took Jung over Corbin Carroll, and then we took Langeliers, but Rosenthal got an off the record quote from someone in the Braves front office saying they were "very close" to taking Manoah at 9.

Obviously that would've changed things a lot, but Manoah sure would look nice in this rotation for the future.

Max Scherzer just left the game in the middle of an at bat. He took himself out. Told the Mets he was done.

The fact this was Scherzer taking himself out has to be concerning for the Mets

Scherzer isn’t a spring chicken so anything back related will linger especially when it gets hot. If Scherzer and deGrom go down for a long period they are in trouble.

Yep. Mets fans, and all fans with a sense of civility about them, are happy it’s not an arm injury. However, if it’s an oblique, back, or even a hip, that can still be a concern

I mean it isn't good obviously, but they're currently tied for the most wins in the NL and DeGrom hasn't thrown an inning. Their rotation simply goes from the best in baseball with both pitchers, to around league average with both of them out. But certainly, they'll need to make an addition if Scherzer has to miss significant time. Can't expect to win the WS with Bassit, Carrasco, Walker's duck taped arm.
