I’ve made like two this year and won both. So Ls aren’t typical. Mods can delete if they like :)

Not that it's shocking but Kyle Wright is officially the Game 2 starter. Snit is still mulling over Morton or Strider for Game 3.

Should be zero mulling…it needs to be Strider…anytime you can possibly escape a series without having to use Morton, take it.

I assume if we win game 1 and 2 then Morton goes game 3 to try and give Strider even more rest if needed. If we lose either or both then Strider for game 3.

I think it really depends on what happens game 1 and 2… if you’re up 2-0 you can save strider a bit longer

That gives the Phillies like three quality bullpen arms, I believe.

Keep reiterating it but really hope we don't overanalyze Strider situation. My fear is we use him in pen, don't get max value, he doesn't build his arm strength either and basically doesn't start this entire postseason.

I'd save him, use him as an opener and just hope he can give us 4-5 innings in a bullpen game. I also don't get why we'd save him for a game 4 that might not happen. The entire issue is he needs innings. What good does it do to not pitch him and then go into Dodgers situation in same situation? I just don't see any rationale to this thinking of using him in the pen or saving him for a game 4. Frankly i think he should go game 2 because if he goes game 4 it also limits his ability to pitch in Dodgers series. He should just go game 2, we have an off-day after, so game 2 can be a heavy bullpen game, and then Strider could start game 1 NLCs on full rest, or even be emergency game 5 reliever.

This sort of feels Soroka / Fried-esque again on just overanalyzing a simple situation. Strider is an elite starter and we should pitch him in game 2 and get as many innings as he feels comfortable. Just my view.

This is the correct lineup vs a LHP, though I still think Heredia should be taking these PAs over Harris. We were all expecting Contreras to get the bulk of the PAs at DH in the postseason, and that's hopefully what we are seeing. Snit has the 2 LHHs split up appropriately so the Phils can't easily neutralize them both with LHPs out of the BP.

Acceptable lineup, pitching well rested, time to watch some awesome October baseball!

Good sign on the line-up that front office is back in the mix on decisions.

Seems like the front office is taking over again

Two schools of thought assuming Strider will not be able to throw anywhere near 100 pitches, and probably not even 75...

He can probably go 2 innings in 2 games, or 4-5 innings in 1 game. I think I'd prefer to let him influence the middle innings of 2 games myself, especially if that means getting Morton out early in one game and contributing to a BP game in another. It also protects against having him reinjure himself and having to scramble to cover those 4-5 innings he was slated to pitch in a single game.

By then he should be built up enough to start 1-2 games in the NLCS if they make it that far.

There should never be a 1pm playoff game on a weekday. I'm trying to figure out how I can watch this without having to wait until I get off work. Hockey and Basketball don't worry about staggering starts - why does baseball?
