Strider seems to be missing 3-4 ticks off the heater

We might be watching what happens when a guy with 1 pitch doesn’t have that 1 pitch

    4 run inning happens apparently.

This may be a good lesson to some of those who think anyone can just be plopped into the rotation and go every 5 days

Inauspicious start to say the very least.

I’ve got ZERO confidence that the bats respond. Absolutely ZERO.

Glad Strider threw… what was it… 106 pitches against the Nationals.

Probably wasn't a good idea for Snitker to extend Strider like he did last game.

If he's a starter, he should be able to regroup with 5 full days of rest

This frankly feels like a moment where the right thing to do would be take Strider out after this inning. He clearly doesn't have it, fastball is off, could be over worked and even if he can gut through it, its the type of game where we need to save his arm for the longer haul. We have a deep pen that is overall well rested

I’m not afraid of Desclafani. We don’t struggle against the veteran backend starters. If he was a 40 FV guy pitching his 4th game, I would say we were toast.

I hope he’s just tired and not injured. Still, can’t give up a bomb to a catcher who can’t hit
