Thank you everyone for all the well wishes for Allison. She’s off the vent and even though she’s groggy she got to hear the last 2 innings sitting in my arms. She’ll be in the hospital for at least a couple more days but she’s already said one of the few words she knows so all early signs show that when all is said and done she’ll be back to her normal happy self.

Snit said it was a rest day for Jansen so he was saving Minter for a tied game or a lead in the ninth. Annoying but at least Minter isn’t hurt, I guess.

Uncharacteristically bad game from the pitchers. It happens. Olson coming to life is a great sign.

Load of ****…The game and the situation dictated otherwise so he should have adjusted. He jeopardizes the games for the sake of fckn scheduling. Smith or Minter could have closed…

Dude, if you just go Minter/Jansen/Minter/Jansen their arms will fall off. You pay the rest of them to get a few outs, too, it just didn't happen tonight.

Looking forward to Matzek and Yates tho

I’ve been the biggest advocate of stopping the overuse of Minter, but he hadn’t pitched in four days, dude. It was a mind-numbingly idiotic decision.

He had actually pitched Sunday, but was off Monday. I'm all for keeping Minter rested. He actually has the second most appearances in the NL.

He threw 3 pitches. And Snitker was going to use him anyway. There’s no justification for it.

OK, I'll buy it in this instance. Generally, tho, I'm more worried about him falling apart from overuse than this single misuse of the pen assets. Last year he used Matzek until his tongue was hanging out. Now, Matzek's lack of preparation might have been a contributing factor, but everytime you start complementing a guy with "wow, rubber arm, can go everyday", you know what's coming next.

we could go through 4 straight games with blowouts that allow Minter and whoever rest. Use the horses you have when they are needed.. not when you think you will need them. Stupid mind sets like that is why Kimbrel watched us loose to the Dodger$.. It is why Twitner is one of the worst managers in the game.

    Exactly.

There was a 100% chance that game was going to be close...because it was close right then.

The chances of tonight's game being close are...less than 100%.

So when do you want Minter to pitch? When it's 100% chance to be a close game, or maybe pitch when it's maybe going to be a close game?

Snit simply doesn't understand win probability or leverage. He would not shoot his gun at a charging grizzly today just in case he needed it tomorrow to shoot at bigfoot.

The most annoying part about yesterdays loss is that the Mets lost to the Astros and are losing again today.

That could have been a huge swing our way.

This is the best thing you have ever contributed to these forums. Incredible summary.. it’s exactly what Snit does.
