Personally, I’d rather there be open debate rather than shove a corrupt politician like Nancy Pelosi down your parties throats for a decade. I mean unless she’s gonna share her insider trading tips. Then I get it.

    I like the Jordan nomination.

It's a very risky strategy... but one that could pay off big time for the country. Moving away from the non-debate top down control speaker would be a huge win for the country... Paul Ryan and Nancy Pelosi simply made us an oligarchy

Today's GOP is a dumpster fire and we all know who lit the match. Yes, they've been on this path since Reagan, but this $hit$how could've been avoided with a little more character and morality. Unfortunately, those traits are in very short supply in the Republican party.

Maybe they'll eventually move aside and let the adults govern by electing Jeffries.

I understand you prefer the ways of Pelosi or McCarthy having full control of the chamber, but that is not how our country was meant to function.

    oh really ?

you are overlooking 250 years of legislative history
Look no further than Henry Clay lorded over the House from 1811- into the 1830s
    Pelosi's time was not unusual.
See Sam Rayburn or Tip O'Neil
and writing " or McCarthy having full control of the chamber "
    well, is just ridiculous

    why not mention Jefferies?
Talk about a shotgun coalition--- the (D) umbrella encompasses
avowed Socialists Blue Dog Democrats and run of the mill (D)
Yet, Jeffries held his coalition yesterday

    Key word, yesterday

What about Jeffries says he'd be a good match?

There was not a single debate or single amendment vote on the house floor under Pelosi.

    Not one

Just because that is the way it has functioned, does not mean it is the best way. I like open debate and not rank and file control of either chambers.

"rank and file control " would be open debate.

I am not opposed to decentralization.
But here we are where the dog has caught the bus
Every dog sled team has a lead dog for a reason.
Every sports team has a captain for a reason
    etc etc etc

Try this, assuming you have a job, go into your bosses office tomorrow and tell him/her your thoughts
on leadership and how you want it & think it should be be implemented inside of the company

    My guess ?
Best case scenario you get laughed out of his office

    So ?
212 (D) followed her lead yesterday
after years of bitching and moaning (R) was impotent to select a Speaker
we jsut got over a POTUS that stood by winked and Nodded at hanging his VP !!!

Without a Speaker, how do you impeach and sentence Dr. Fauci to Gitmo ?

You really don't have to keep explaining that you prefer a dictator to a representative democracy.

That has been known for some time

If you get laughed out of the office you need to go find a new boss

I hope Ruby Freeman becomes rich from Trump targeting her with his lies.

It's pure evil what he is doing to this poor woman and her daughter. No punishment is enough, imho.

I think George Santos should stand up for himself better.

He could become a hero for the right by repeating "I intend to work for the people who voted for me."
