They absolutely can. Jackson was sent down for Muller and Anderson is the 27th man so Jackson can’t come back for 10 days unless someone goes on the IL. Ynoa can’t come back up yet either. Although maybe they could do it if Tromp was placed on the IL and another catcher was called up.

That play and the bare hand play early were why I don't think Riley is a bad defender. He has the arm and some instincts. He comes in. He's competent IMO.

But I can see the range issues. I can see that he doesn't have special hands.

I was thinking Iglesias for the ninth, but on the other hand, if you used Jansen in a close game tonight, you could be without Iglesias and Jansen tomorrow. Hopefully Minter and Yates can cover it.
