The division is obviously the goal but the reformatted playoffs make it a lot less important. I’d take Fried-Wright-Strider plus the bullpen in a three-game series all day. Though I have a feeling Snit would start Charlie because of his history.

Yep. Mets will be hard to catch unless we go 5-2 or better head to head vs them. Which is unlikely. But could happen. Could also go 2-5.
Getting that 1st wild card spot is priority number 1 the rest of the way.

I would not want to face a Phillies team that can throw Nola and Wheeler at you or the Padres in a short series. I think the new format rewards division winners better and places more emphasis on getting one of the top two records.

As unrealistic as it is, I almost feel like the Braves need to sweep this series. The Mets need a real jolt to the system.

If the Braves want to win the East, and that should still be the goal until the number of head-to-heads is less than the difference in the lead, then they need to sweep this week. The chances of that happening are pretty much nil, but that's the hand we have to play.

If the braves lose this series, I'd start phantom IL stints for pitchers

Being the top WC team is still really important. Braves are in the driver’s seat for that, but Padres and Phillies will push us.

I know - me too. Mish is great. Pointed out that the Marlins got swept even tho we didn’t use Morton, Fried, Wright or Strider

I couldn't give two ****s who we play. You just have to put your big boy pants on and win. It's better than the one-and-done format regardless.

Mish is the best. Has his flubs here and there but he actually breaks news, writes impactful articles and isn't the biggest dick in the world on Twitter.

I think the new AJC guy is pretty good and getting better. Toscano. He isn't lazy (DOB) and has command of the written word (Bowman).

Is there reason to believe he will pan out more than the last Chainsmokers album?

same spot, because coming into the year, the Braves had one of the worst farm systems in all of baseball.
