I thought it was just somewhere in the organization. Surely someone coming off the 60 day DL on September 29th would be eligible for the postseason roster.

Anyone on the 40 man or 60 Day DL by Aug 31 is eligible for the postseason without any issue.

There are loopholes for players not on the 40 man but still in the organization as of Aug 31.

Soroka will be eligible for the playoffs.

Yeah, I didn't think about the IL.. I just consider the IL as still being on the 40.. I mean if you are on the 60, then the team isn't going to release you when you come off.. you will be on the 40 again.

Pretty much. You don't count towards the actual 40 man limit but players on the 60 day DL still reap the benefits of it. They still earn service time, etc.

Same. Immensely likable young man. Once he completes his comeback he will be all the more a person to root for.
