Thinking ahead…how does the rotation stack up this weekend? Strider, Morton, Fried?

Yes, Steve Avery and Doug Drabek threw the ball well tonight.

Strider, Morton and Odorizzi if the rotation isn't altered.

Does anyone fully understand how the option works for next year? I just know it's a bit complicated. I guess if anything he should he easily tradeable.

I think he's already met the requirements to guarantee the 6.25m buyout. I think he could pretty easily receive at least a 1 year contract in excess of 6 million, so I think he takes the buyout. If he does opt in, like you said he should be fairly easy to move, especially if we eat 4-5 million or take on another contract.

The value of opting in for Odorizzi appears to be in the incentives for starts. Hard to think Odorizzi sees a path to a bunch of starts in an Atlanta rotation that will likely feature Fried, Wright, Strider and Soroka with potentially Anderson, Muller and Morton also in the picture.

deGrom not starting today vs the Yankees. Just being cautious?

He doesn’t want 2 loses in a row.

True. If deGrom goes down (high possibility) the Mets are in trouble.

About time Odorizzi had a good stint out there. It was the Pirates though.

What's funny is that either of you feel the need to comment on that when it's constantly pointed out and doesn't change things.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
