This was a frustrating win if there ever was one. Remember when some said KJ is elite and he was just off. Our pen is an issue going into the playoffs. Hoping some guys can get right and not stress me out.

    Wrong.

Sometimes you just give up a 2 run homer. Doesn't mean anything. He would've been more careful had there been 2 runners on base.

Huh. So we are ok with someone who gives levels of effort depending on the score.

Any color on what advanced metrics or basic velocities indicate on Matzek? His basic numbers have been ok but clearly doesn’t look like last year and even Snit has zero confidence in him

Even when he’s struggling, Ronald’s presence just makes the team so much different.

the difference has been so obvious the previous 3 games without him.

I wish AA micromanaged the hell out of Snit to put Ronald on a leash.

I think Snit is so old school he’s not listening.

No. His knee is terrible and could fall off at anytime.

Solid win. Especially Kyle eating up all of those innings, and brilliantly.

Ronnie's knee issues are typical. Nothing structurally wrong with it, but he doesn't have confidence to rotate on it and feels pain when he does. "It's terrible. We're just going to play through it until the season is over." Sitting him isn't going to make those issues go away.

I don't think Snitker is on as long a leash with the front office as some here assume. As for how Acuna is being handled (and how he plays), remember that when Snitker called him out for making an obvious baserunning blunder early last season, you would have thought from the fan reaction that Snitker had shot Acuna's dog.

Acuna plays wildly (and that's not necessarily a bad thing). His innate physicality allows him to consider trying things that only about 10% of major league players would even venture to try. I don't think any counsel from Snitker or Washington or whomever will ever change that. Acuna is a guy who--at least right now--should be handled with kid gloves, but that's not going to matter if Acuna plays like his knee is 100%. This is where his instincts and the expected discomfort from recovery just don't mesh.
