I am trying so, so hard not to get too excited about Malloy. I am not succeeding. I am truly a homer.

I can't get excited at my age. Bladder control issues may ensue. But I agree that Malloy is at least very intriguing. No HRs in Arizona yet and it's hard to get a handle on BB- and K-rates in the Arizona Fall League, but his rates there look solid. I have little doubt that he will be in spring training as an NRI and we'll see how it goes from there. My guess is that he'll start the year in Gwinnett and if he rakes, he may find his way up. A lot is going to depend on what the Braves do about LF in the off-season. Clearly a weakness right now and I doubt they'd roll the dice on Malloy at this point.

    Come little tomato, catch up.

    Friday game--Scorpions lose 6-1.

    Conley: 0/4, 1 BB, 2 K
    Bunnell: 0/4, 2 K
    Woods: 2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 K

Saturday--No Braves in AFL HR Derby

    Sunday--NL Stars 9, AL Stars 3

    Malloy: 0/2, 1 K

Austin Smith was also a member of the NL team, but did not pitch. I thought Conley might have a shot, but NL roster was stacked at SS with Diamondbacks' 2021 1st-rounder, Jordan Lawlar (DNP), Padres' 2021 1st-rounder Jackson Merrill, and Cardinals' 2020 2nd-rounder Masyn Winn.

Oops! Austin Smith did pitch 1/3 of an inning for the AL team, giving up 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER.
