I'd take us over the Mets as well, but that's assuming Ronald can get back to MVP level play this season and Ozzie stays healthy and rounds back into form. Also, at least one of Rosario/Ozuna is going to have to do something worthwhile.

Yeah Ronnie needs to be Ronnie. I have way more hope with Ozuna than Rosario, he's at least proven he's a good hitter. We need an everyday outfielder more than a shortstop, i'd be fine rolling with Grissom tbh (if you're reading this AA, sign Correa thanks). Albies being healthy would help a ton.

Sadly cash is no issue with the Mets. They are just trying to collect good players and they are doing a good job at it. Don't think Cohen cares about players not performing to their contract at the end of it.

I think they're gonna spend until their farm is up to par. I dont think their end-game is to have a 400 million payroll every year.

One thing to consider is the amount of games fewer we play head to head against the Mets

Can’t stumble out of the gate like last year

Atl, SF, Boston, Min are the 4 that will get Swanson or Correa. Hopefully we’re 1 of em.

It ain't happening regardless. Miami trying to trade starters, not acquire them.

Because they have like 3-4 top SS prospects and all of them are basically MLB ready. Also, Rosario is gone after this year.

I don't want Swanson anywhere near 200 million. Hell, I thought 120 million was way too much for him. He isn't a franchise player. Let someone else pay him.

Tough time to be AA. Can't really afford players in the FA market at these prices but also not real trade assets to make a significant trade.

I know we really don't have many holes. But my hope is AA continues to wait out the market and later in the off season is able to score value deals somewhere.

Tough? He’s got like 18 positions locked up already.

It’s a position of luxury tbh.

Fangraphs has the Mets luxury tax payroll somewhere around $335m (and they are still not done yet) at this point, they will be paying somewhere around $67m in luxury tax penalties. That is higher than the whole payroll of the A's, Rays, and I believe the O's

Swanson isn’t near anywhere close to that. If anybody gives him that then they deserve what they get.

And just think, if the Wilpons were still the owners, the Mets likely would have had to do a rebuild at this point. So little of their current roster is homegrown.

Baseball's finances are broken. There has got to be a way to get the players onboard with a salary cap and a salary floor. Increased revenue sharing or something. The advantage the large markets have is just silly.

yes. he hasn’t been good since 2018. barely pitched in 2020 and 2021. walked almost 5 per 9 last year and had an unsustainable ERA. i wouldn’t want to rely on him at all in the Braves bullpen.

It's not broken. Players are gonna make what they can. Some owners' philosophy is you get what you PAY for. The Braves will have to learn this the hard way or get legit ownership. No way Fried, Acuna or Albies re-sign here. Riley and Harris got to be saying we messed up by committing that long.

    Jesus ****ing Christ

The Braves payroll is going to end up somewhere between $230-$250m

What an absolutely ignorant and nonsensical response.
