Twins make two second-tier deals, one of which might show their hand a bit.
They trade 3B Gio Urshela to the Angels for a minor league pitcher (19-year-old RHP Alejandro Hidalgo). Twins' announcers just couldn't stop gushing over Urshela all season long. He's a grinder which always seems to curry favor with a segment of the fans. The move allows Twins to move Jose Miranda from 1B to 3B. Urshela was a non-tender candidate, so the Twins got something for him although I find the Angels an odd destination given the Angels investment in Rendon.
Twins turn around and obtain SS/2B/3B Kyle Farmer from the Reds for minor league pitcher Casey Legumna, a RHP who was the Twins' 8th-round pick out of Gonzaga in 2019. Twins insist they are going to make the highest contract offer in team history to try and bring back Correa and the acquisition of Farmer at least indicates they want some measure of back-up plan. If Correa signs elsewhere (likely), Royce Lewis has been penciled in as the starter, but after two major knee surgeries, there may be some question if that has impinged his mobility to the point he can't effectively field the position. Jorge Polanco has played SS, but is not very good there. Farmer at least gives them some flexibility.
Reds basically swapped out Farmer (going to the Twins) for Kevin Newman (coming in from the Pirates for RHP Dauri Moreta).

Do we sign Brooks Conrad to play SS yet?

I thought the first season of TWD was slow. The farm season up through the governor stuff was good. It started to slow down after that. I like the Negan character from the comics and the actor they have for him is good but overall that story started to get old. I mentally checked out when Rick left and stopped watched all together when Carl died.

I just wish MLB's off-season wasn't so painstakingly slow.
I just figured out the other day that I was in attendance at 2022 NL MVP Paul Goldschmidt's last minor league game. He was a member of the Mobile Bay Bears back in 2011 and Mrs. 50# and I were doing a road trip through the South and a Mississippi Braves' game was a destination. Braves lost 5-3.
Mobile had a pretty good squad with Jarrod Parker pitching that night and A.J. Pollock on the team as well.
M-Braves were a bit of a motley crew. I remember being impressed with OFs Willie Cabrera and Cory Harrilchak and speedy OF Antoan Richardson did actually spend some time with the Braves later that season. Ed Lucas who later spent some time with the Marlins was also on the team.
