Andrew Benintendi might fit in that role as well, probably at a little lower cost.

Yeah Benintendi would be cheaper and I’d be fine with him depending on years.

Nimmo was close to being a Hog as well. Van Horn found him out west, playing ball in an area with no HS ball, and signed him. Thought he would be able to keep him hidden, but the damned dirty Mets found him. Clearly he wasn't of high enough character to play for the Razorbacks given that decision.

I can't imagine Cohen letting him go to the Braves. It would have to be Nimmo wanting out or understanding the Braves are a better bet for team success.

That said, I LOVE the idea of a high OBP player. I think that would be a great compliment to the current line up.

You can probably get Michael Brantley for much cheaper.

How many DHs does a team need?

What is so difficult to decipher? AA has limited money at the moment. Less than $10M away from luxury tax. He, unfortunately also, has limited trade chips.

The market around baseball is super quiet right now. We do not know how much money AA has to spend. Could be less than 10, could be 30-40 million. We'll know in the next couple months.

In fairness, we never have big dominos fall off the table in November.

Nothing big usually happens pre-winter meetings.

WE MAY KNOW something by opening day of next season but there is no need to guess what and who will be Braves next year until a determination is made on Ozuna and maybe Rosario.

You know this how? You don’t know what the budget is or how much he has to spend. But common sense tells you he didn’t blow his wad on Morton and has no plan for SS besides Arcia or Grissom.

Hopefully by the end of next week, there is at least some movement on the free agent front and we have some clarity heading into the rest of the off season.

Braves likely only make a few moves outside of the SS position decision so I wasn't expecting a roster overhaul this winter anyway.

Winter meetings are next week and sometimes things start moving there.

By watching off seasons for many many years, reading multiple newspapers every day when reporters had access, and acknowledging the fact that Atlanta Braves are the only truly corporate entitiy thereby answering to shareholders and not a billionaire owner,.

They’ve never done what they are doing right now and that’s spend like crazy and lock up all the young talent. The best writers for the Braves have 0 clue what AA is doing. He doesn’t tell them anything. This is all a guessing game but what’s been happening tells you AA has money to spend.

Remember last year when DOB said we only had like 5 million left to spend. Then literally the next day, they signed Jansen for 15.

I trolled DOB on twitter about it for weeks.

Disney bought the last 15% of MLBAM tech that they didn’t own from MLB last month for $900,000,000. So every team was basically given an extra $30 million last month.

Passan mentioned on Twitter that executives expect things to pick up exponentially during the Winter Meetings next week.
