Shuster looked really good. Elledge had control issues, but his stuff looked nasty and he didn’t give up a run, even with 2 walks.

The rest of our pitchers were really bad.

Pillar had a homer and looked good. Grissom booted a possible DP ball, but otherwise was fine.

But, while that 2014 team looked good on paper, this team is objectively more talented and it’s not close. We just can’t sustain more than a couple major injuries.
I'd say injuries for position players is something we cant afford. We have "some" options for the rotation, and a few for the bullpen. Position player depth is basically wiped out.

Did you see any velocity readings for Shuster?

The ball that Grissom booted was as taylormade as it could have gotten. He just lifted his head and didn't follow the ball into his glove. Going to be growing pains and can't rush to judgements to get on his back when he struggles defensively and offensively .

Well, to be fair, he was our best because our farm is ****. So he's like the 7th best in a decent system

It's funny. As good as the lineup was last year we had an unhealthy Acuna and underperforming Albies and Olson. Now you can't expect everyone on the team to hit at their expected levels or better but our lineup is going to be really ****ing good. Excited to see how it goes.

as the season draws nearer, my inner thethe starts to emerge from slumber.. yes adding Ozzie back.. a fully healthy Acuna.. no shift Olson and now Murph (yes I hated that trade, but I am still excited).. the offense is deep AF.. Just hoping our pitching holds up and some guys come around to fill the back end of rotation

There is "USUALLY" a pitcher that comes out of nowhere that helps out. That last spot I'm hoping we see Shuster about June 1, and we don't look back.

Everyone should embrace their inner optimist.

Its better to be an optimist and wrong than a pessimist and right.

Was Strider as filthy as the highlights made it look? I saw 98 up for a K on pitch 48.

    That simply isn't fair.
