I think they do eventually. Their pitching is hurting though for sure. And they don't have the depth we are accustomed to them having.

I wouldn't mind seeing their playoff streak snapped

Well, you can forget about that since Manfred insists on 3/4 of the league making the postseason.

Freddie maybe starting to show some age. Obviously it's still early in the season and a good week would put him back near career levels, but at 33 (34 in September) it's certainly worth wondering if he's hit the age wall. His EVs are at a 5 year low currently and are in a trend down since the start of 2021.

Maybe. His xwoba is .428, which is 2nd highest in his career.

Yeah, I don’t think Freddie is just suddenly gonna fall off of a cliff like that all at once - it has happened obviously (Murphy, Andruw, Ozuna 😂) but maybe just falling off the bottom step of the pool.

Well Olson would have to actually make contact. Ozuna would need to not K or hit weak grounders. Grissom would have to have an EV over 85.

Did you all see David Cone's explanation of the impact of washing one's hands with alcohol after using resin? It was very well done and explains why Scherzer was saying he did everything right and the ump said he was cheating.

So using alcohol to wash off resin makes your hands "sticky". I know I wash my hands with alcohol all the time... who using soap and water?

Wonder when the Angels give up and Renfroe becomes available. Would look good in LF.

If the Angels are anywhere close to a playoff spot I imagine they go all in at the deadline to try and get Ohtani to the playoffs. At this point I think the Braves just need someone to take Ozuna's spot and be the right side of a platoon with Hillard/Rosario.

They have a better shot to make playoffs than I thought. In that case yeah a RHH to deploy with Hilliard is the cheaper, likely equal move.

Google posted some article about how the Braves tired to swap Soler with Ozuna but the Fish said no. I was doing something so didn't have much time to really get into it, but it also didn't have much details, like who else was going to the fish. It referenced the Corbin proposal as well.. I don't remember where the article was from since it was a google suggestion.. But the point was, I would love to somehow get Soler for Ozuna. Just know it would cost a lot in prospects and money to do something like that.

Pirates lock up Reynolds for 8/106. He could have gotten more elsewhere. Take him off any OF targets now.

The article from Heyman suggested that the Braves tried to trade for Jorge Soler at last years deadline and again this offseason. One of the iterations had Ozuna going to the Fish but they obviously declined.

Wasn't Reynolds basically demanding to be traded? Weird.

He said all along he wanted to stay in Pitt if they’d pay him something that worked for him… if they weren’t going to pay him, then we wanted to be traded
