And Verlander and Scherzer will still strike out 10+ and shut our asses down.

MLB's all time worst record (over 162 games) was the 2003 Detroit Tigers, who finished 43-119 (.265 winning percentage)
This years Oakland A's are currently at 10-45 (.182 winning percentage) and are currently pacing a 29-133 season. What a bad way for that franchise to end in Oakland. Really feel for their fans.

Giants activated Luke Jackson from the IL coming off his TJS....wish him luck!

Diamond/Bally chose not to catch up their past due payment to the Padres, so it looks like the rights have reverted.
Unclear what their exposure is for breach of contract or whether they simply could walk away like this.
One thing is certain, it's not great for the big payroll pads in the short term.
Heh heh.
Get a load of this moron.

If push comes to shove with Bally and the Braves, here’s an idea of what might be a future possibility
Chopping With The Braves And Rolling With The Tide
They were saying on MLB Radio this morning it sounds like the Guardians are next. I think their payment is due by midnight tonight.
With MLB taking over the Padres broadcasts, the fans will be able to watch the games on TV. or through the MLB.tv app. The nice thing is that they won't be subject to local blackout rules unless it is on a national network. They expect their in market reach to go from 1.13M homes to 3.2M homes.

A lot of bad takes in that twitter thread
Top of Phillies lineup is performing 4th WORSt in the history of baseball’s live ball era.
From Phillies board :
Yes. Since 1920, which he said is considered the start of the live ball era.
Those top two spots in the lineup have a combined .270 OBP. "It's inconceivable. The Phillies are making outs at a higher rate in the two spots in the lineup that bat more than any other spots than just about any team in the last 100 years."
4th worst in fact.
Hahahahahajajaahhha.
And Trea Turner is gonna be there for 8 years- which looks like the worst contract in the history of the game.
I enjoy the utter lack of curiosity and intellectual humility in that DOB tweet. No deeper dive into the numbers, no explanations -- nope, Dave just looked at the OPS+, thought, "That's stupid," and tweeted it out.
You could argue that Freeman is doing more damage with his OPS+, since it's more BA and SLG heavy, and Soto's OPS+ is much more driven by walks. You could argue that Freeman's superior numbers with runners in scoring position and various clutch situations makes his performance more valuable, even though the sample size in those situations is pretty small. Perfectly reasonable arguments!
But nope. Dave's content with "They're just not." Impeccable reasoning from a professional communicator.
