Those top two spots in the lineup have a combined .270 OBP. "It's inconceivable. The Phillies are making outs at a higher rate in the two spots in the lineup that bat more than any other spots than just about any team in the last 100 years."

    4th worst in fact.

    Hahahahahajajaahhha.
And Trea Turner is gonna be there for 8 years- which looks like the worst contract in the history of the game.
Turner is there for 10 more seasons after this one. 11 year contract.

I'm as big a Freeman guy as anyone, but I think the point is because Soto's counting stats aren't that eye-popping, his value is being discounted. Freeman is having a better year to date, but it's not a landslide.

You could argue that Freeman's superior numbers with runners in scoring position and various clutch situations makes his performance more valuable, even though the sample size in those situations is pretty small. Perfectly reasonable arguments!

But nope. Dave's content with "They're just not." Impeccable reasoning from a professional communicator.

That awful contract with Bally ending would likely be a long term blessing but could make things tight in the short term. I doubt the immediate cash flow from MLB's stop gap measures would match the contract. Might make it hard to add players at the deadline if Bally bails.

It's unclear from that article if the judge is requiring payment of all of the contracts or none. I would think Bally would have the right to pick and choose which contracts it keeps. If that's the case, I expect they'll pay the Braves what they owe.

From the sounds of it from other articles i've read, the Braves contract with them is favorable for Bally so they have paid up to date. They are not going to not pay the Braves while the network is profitable.

So the terrible contract they signed a while ago might actually turn out to be a good thing for the Braves?
    thank you weso1!
