Wow. So Soroka to AAA, Munoz to the pen and AJSS to the rotation?

Well they said they didn't want to yoyo Soroka, so I assume this might be for the rest of the season. Maybe they can rework his delivery back to what made him so great and not trying to get the extra extention..

I hope AJ is not going to start.. I don't see that ending well.

I think Dodd could start on Friday if they wanted him too. Munoz just up for blow out relief.. then send him down for Dodd...

that said, I don't know the new rules on options in a year and how many more Dodd has.

AJSS should be tried in the rotation 100%. He’s viewed as a starter not a bullpen arm going forward and we have a couple of holes in the rotation so yes he should get the next shot over Dodd.

We still doing the Dodd thing? Ugh. But that's probably the answer.

I have no idea on Dodd.. Just not sure AJSS is really ready for 2 times through a rotation. I am not sure he will be much better than Soroka/Shuster/Dodd once he is figured out. And it doesn't take long for MLB to get the book on you.

Those spin rates look a little stiff, but he may not have figured everything out yet. But Soroka is clearly not ready and Dodd was pretty limited, so maybe we catch a break with AJSS.

Geez, Soroka was disappointing. I thought he might lose a klick or two on his pitches, but he was always a solid command pitcher. He didn't command **** yesterday. They say with TJS the velocity comes back before the command does - all those fine muscles coordinating and having to relearn paths - plus I guess he made some significant changes in his delivery to take stress off that heel. Patience is why we have a team in Gwinnett, I suppose.

Unable to watch live, but followed most of the game on Gameday. It seemed that Soroka's four-seamer was getting tattooed with regularity but I didn't see the deeper analysis so I could be way off base. I remember Anthopoulos saying they were trying to rebuild Soroka from a weak-contact guy to a miss-bats guy and they are smarter than me, but I am hard-pressed to see that really working out.

I always expected Smith-Shawver to be in the rotation once with the big club. I thought he'd work out of the bullpen a few more times, but the brass obviously doesn't see it that way. I guess we'll know when we know. I think this decision plays into the off-season strategy at some level.

I do think it's pretty clear that the organization is in scramble mode when it comes to the big league staff at this point -- there's no real semblance of a "plan" any more, and they're just kind of throwing stuff at the wall and hoping it sticks. Smith-Shawver going from Rome to Atlanta in a single season is not a carefully considered stratagem, and neither is having him sit in the bullpen for a couple days, make one relief appearance, then get a start. They didn't want to yo-yo Soroka up and down between AAA and the bigs, then they got two looks at him and immediately yo-yoed him between AAA and the bigs.

I don't really begrudge them that too much. There's not really any way to plan for losing Wright and Fried from essentially day one. But it's pretty ugly to witness in themoment.

Those are made up names. I do like how you threw a name we’d all recognize in Benitez in there though to make us not question it.

You forgot to mention that the reason you know about Diego is from watching Dora the Explorer.

Also noticed Justus Sheffield was assigned to the FCL... is he recovering from an injury? I know we just signed him a week ago or so.

No injury that I remember...I know the mariners waited on him even after DFA'ing him. Never put it together..I think if he can get back..the Braves have something.....maybe.
