Yeah, I think Cohen is going to tear it down soon and would probably make a deal and eat salary for maybe three good prospects. He also said ultimately he wants the team to be home grown.

Meanwhile, coming to a juggernaut for a shot at one more ring would probably feel pretty good to those guys. WeÂ’d be well-suited to give them a skipped start here or there as a nod to their advancing age.

But I think both of them have enough left in the tank to help us win a championship.
Cohen does not strike me as the type that would be interested in a significant trade like that within the division. Nor do I think we have the prospect capital they'd be looking for in return if they ate a large chunk of salary.

I get the impression Cohen is adament about competing every year, so I don't see a way the Mets are competitive if they trade Verlander and Scherzer. They simply don't have the pitching and would once again have to rely on free agents. They have to hope for bounce backs across the board from people like Marte, McNeil, in addition to Scherzer and Verlander, and hope some of their prospects can take the next step forward.

Culberson is back and Tromp was optioned.

As stated, backup IF needs improved. You can’t rely on Culberson or Adrianza if Ozzie or Arcia get injured.

Nobody is relying on Culberson or Adrianza for anything more than a few innings. If something happened to Arcia Shewmake would be up the next day. With Albies it would probably be Grissom

Not sure Shewmake over those other two would make me feel any better
