Putting this bit of news here. Jeff Francoeur is going to cut back on his number of broadcasts. CJ Nitkowski hired as an analyst

Happy for Jeff that he’s able to spend more time with his family. It’s the right decision.
As much as Chip brought the worst out of Jeff, Brandon Gaudin brought out the best. I really enjoyed their chemistry and felt that was easily the strongest broadcast the Braves have had since Skip and Pete.
This new potential Amazon angle is confusing.

This Amazon bit is interesting. The source is The Wall Street Journal, but it's a subscription article. Been looking at other sources to see if I could possibly find out other items of interest. Obviously, a lot we do not know. The main questions about this:
How much would Amazon be investing?
How many games could be exclusive streaming?
Will the Bally Sports channel still exist?
Blackouts?
There is little doubt that streaming live sports is going to be a bigger thing in the future, just from a standpoint of how many cord cutters there are. MLB with the games streamed on Apple+ and Peacock. Several college football games were exclusive on Peacock, including a Notre Dame game. Even the NFL game between the Bills and Chargers Saturday night will only be on Peacock. Whether we want it or not, streaming live sports games will become bigger thing.
Amazon does want to get bigger into streaming sports. They are paying a good bit of cash for Thursday night games in the NFL. Again, don't know how much they could possibly be investing, but if they want to get more into live sports, this could be their avenue to do so. And if you're Bally/Diamond Sports Group, how could you not entertain this? Could be your way out of bankruptcy and stay in business.
This is worth watching.

Hopefully Bally retains broadcast on tv, but Amazon gets all streaming rights to the games.
I wondered why Apple or Amazon didn't scoop up the FSNs when Bally bought them. I guess given that Bally ended up in BKY it makes sense.

Bally only has streaming rights for a few teams. Braves aren’t one of them.
Diamond, via its various Bally-branded regional sports networks, currently carries 11 MLB teams’ TV broadcasts: Los Angeles Angels, Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Guardians, Miami Marlins, Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Rays, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers.
But Diamond is said to currently only carry the digital rights to five of those teams: the Tigers, Royals, Marlins, Brewers and Rays.
Therefore, even if Diamond and Amazon do wind up with a court-approved arrangement, Diamond could not stream games via Amazon for any of its other MLB teams beyond those five. Of course, other teams and MLB could negotiate with Diamond for expanded digital rights access, but MLB and Diamond have not seen eye to eye on the worth of MLB’s streaming rights.
