Hand or some other LHP followed by Elder as the bulk guy is a solid idea.

Elder and Murphy on the other squad, take that for what it’s worth. Elder looks like he got torched again
The Twitter sphere said he was rough in the first inning but settled down nicely the rest of his start

So it seems like we're going with 14 position players, 12 pitchers. Odd, considering the DH rule. Unless we want a backup pinch-runner.

Probably has more to do with the schedule. Every pitcher should have plenty of rest so less should be needed. Worst case scenario one gets hurt and can be replaced.

Yep. There are 3 off days built in to the 5 game schedule. So really no reason the top relievers cant pitch in every game.

Charlie Morton pitched yesterday without any hiccups.

If Morton were a possibility, he should be put on the roster from the jump since we shouldn't have to use the whole pitching staff.

He couldn't be on the roster because of the IL... however, the rule states that he can replace someone if they are injured I believe... would make the Tonkin decision make a little more sense...

Even if we conceded to play a man short for the first two games?

I have no idea lol... I mean Tonkin could still pitch if needed and then that could lead to an "injury" haha
